You can use the export function and export all the contents out.
You can also export all the links (blogroll) out.
    You cannot export a template.
You can get a free version of the template on the net.

    Instructions coming ... hang in

The theme you choose will have to be capable of running on wordpress software. You can ascertain whether or not this is so or not by contacting the designer of the theme you wish to use. There are hundreds of free wordpress themes available on the internet.

The ones listed at the site called "Free Themes Directory" I will give you the link to are all GPL themes. wordpress.org/extend/themes/

There are also "Commercially Supported GPL Themes" that have full designer support behind them if you don't mind paying for that.

A very short answer, there, timethief. But correct. It is not possible to transfer without a lot of work.

wordpress . com has an export function where you can export all your posts and comments and then import them into your new blog, provided that your new blogging platform has an import function. Images and/or other media will not be exported and must be moved manually by uploading theme again and changing the links accordingly. The theme or template will not be exported, only the post contents. No sidebar content will be exported either.

And you really should ask these question in the support forum for wordpress . com: en.forums.wordpress.com as timethief already pointed to in a previous reply.

I also gave you the link to the instructions for exporting your blogroll links out of your wordpress.com blog and into your new wordpress.org blog.

To find a copy of the template go on the internet and use the search terms "free dowload Andreas Viklund theme 09 wordpress"
      Google search results andreasviklund.com/templates/andreas09/

This is not an intimating process. I have done it several times and it amounts to pointing and clicking. I hope this helps you and wish your happy blogging.

While I appreciate being mentioned and linked to in your blog post, you have copied content from the BC discussion boards without even referring to the source thread. Please add a link to this thread in your post. Thanks. While it is not wrong to use the BC discussions for creating content for your blog, not referencing the source is content theft.
