Which are the TV shows you find you just can't miss?

Must be: An uplifting counter-balance to our daily drudge.
No-no's: News, Current affairs, Sport, Motoring, Religion, Crime, Soap opera, you get the drift...

Guidelines: Only ONE show per day -- if it's a true toss-up, will allow two; the title of the show must be a strong clue to its content (brief tip in bracket, if not obvious); One Favourite of the week, and why (2-3 short sentences/words).

I'll go first!
M -- Talking Heads, abc
T -- Global Village, sbs
W -- The New Inventors, abc; Spicks 'n Specks, abc (music quiz show with humour)
T -- Catalyst, abc (science)
F -- Better Homes & Gardens, seven
S -- Iron Chef, sbs; Rockwiz, sbs (Rock music quiz show with humour)
S --

Global Village -- interesting, unique view of other cultures; brings a world to me that I will never get to experience for real.

    Supernatural
    Numbers
    Law & Order

Those are the only ones I watch religiously these days...Not much time for TV and I don't have cable so it limits my choices.
  2. VampireFaust
And then, of course, I watch all of the round-table political shows on PBS on Sundays...

I'm there with you on the Law & Order, VF. I also love, love, love The Office. Other than that, college textbooks don't leave me much time for the Tube.

    I don't have a TV.

VampireFaust: Will only 'allow' the round-table political shows to your list; the others are crime/soap opera! Ditto 2WriteHands!

    - Scrubs
    - Medium
    - Ugly Betty
    - The Office

Anyone find any good summer shows?

The only one I found that I like so far is the Real Deal on TLC. It's a reality show about a man who started buying real estate/ fixing up then selling for profit. His company is huge now and I just find the show facinating.

I'm also getting addicted to all those fix up/remodel ur home shows on HGTV.

I don't think I've made it through a whole television show in years--for a couple of years, we didn't even have television! I do like the part in Numbers where Charlie explains his mathematic analysis, though. I don't usually sit through the whole show, but if I'm home on Friday night I do try to catch those few minutes.
  15. SocialCitizen
"Weeds." And any time "Sex and the City" is playing, although the edited episodes on cable are almost not even worth watching. "Project Runway."
  16. jungl
The Wire. Best show I've ever seen!
Can't wait for the next season.

We don't have cable or an antenna. I have serious qualms about exposing myself it television in a "push" as opposed to "pull" framework.

My TV is for watching movies or TV shows that I chose at the time and pacing that I find most comfortable. It also never shows commercials.

I only get my TV shows from torrents so I guess it's same for me.
