Should Capital Punishment be condemned as a Crime? Because murdering a murderer is just another act of murder. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

I believe that some people are truly a danger to society, a danger to prison guards, a danger to other prisoners, and cannot be rehabilitated.

In the case of someone who is so violent, and so dangerous, capital punishment serves as a way of protecting society, and everyone in it, mainly be removing that risk from society.

It has nothing to do with punishment or justice.

I'm not apposed to capital punishment in itself. Just the arbitrary manner in which it is doled out in this country.

Capital punishment puts you on the same moral level as the people you are condemning so I say no to capital punishment.
Also I don't believe the government should have the power of life or death over the people.

Well, it's not a crime. I don't believe in the death penalty, but a crime is an act in violation of applicable criminal statutes, so it's definitely not that.

Is there any legal loopholes that make capital punishment illegal?

I can't bring myself to death penalty but life in prison....YES.

There is not much empirical evidence that capital punishment works as a deterrent. The moral argument against it seems stronger than the moral argument for it: that is that societies that allow capital punishment debase themselves; the counter-argument basically being an eye for an eye, etc. Capital punishment does not save money, because it costs more to prosecute and try capital cases, and to lock people up on death row, than it costs to prosecute and imprison people when capital punishment is not an issue.

The only compelling argument I have ever heard for capital punishment, is that there are certain people who are so notorious that society would feel much better banishing them for our memory forever. It might be better, for example, if a Charles Manson were no longer on this earth, as opposed to having to deal with his parole requests every so often. Not so much that he is dangerous, though he very well may be, but that we just don't want to be reminded of his presence. But since I don't think we can just have capital punishment for famous people, I come out against it.

Manson creeps me out. I was a little girl in southern California when all that went down.

If the crime is committed against sovereignty. And the state is currently undergoing monetary difficulty due to indiscriminate gangsterism against The State and Sovereignty IN CRITICAL SITUATION BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH! currently suffering political porn aggravation.

Remember You had to bailout good innocent people and not those corrupt political warlord while the entire state is in holocaust of poverty!

Remember that the wefare of a state depends on sovereignty equity not by puppet sovereign in con! and not by common democracy by common politic.

Capitol punishment for proven extreme state crimes should not be the subject of politicized propaganda. Justice Ministry of A State should independent and not subjected to extreme politicking!

I see capital punishment slowly fading from the American scene and I don't lose a lot of sleep over that. Then along comes a guy who beheads his 5-year old sister. If he had lived, I would have had no problem with his getting the big sleep as opposed to feeding and sheltering him for the next 50 years. At the end of the day I am not quite ready to give it up completely but I also expect and accept that it will be a thing of the past 20 years from now.

Capital punishment is a tool that I think should be used only for the very worse crimes. Even then I would let the family of the victim have the final say about whether they think the perpetrator should be put to death or not.

i agree with that. the only problem is the definition of which crimes are worse than others. its subjective to an extent which can cause problems. but yeah it should be left up to the family of the victim to decide if they want the perpetrator put down.

To the family of a young girl who has been kidnapped, trafficked and then murdered capital punishment is justice.

I guess there will never be a straight answer to this question. Morality is a funny thing when applied to different people. The only thing that really should be asked is whether the people who serve the death penalty really deserve it?
