Change careers for one year

Topics: Career, change
Let's say everything else would stay the same as in your current career (time for family, hobbies etc, salary could go no lower than what it is now, you would not have to move, old job waiting for you in a year)
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR NEW CAREER TO BE?

It's funny for me. I have four months off each year, but I miss being productive after about a month. I hope to get over that feeling soon.

In certain countries, you hear about orphanages full of babies who are never held or interacted with, who go on to develop heinous psychological illnesses. I have always wanted to work for an orphanage and care for babies.

Hmmm....giving some thought to this one...
I sit behind a computer and operate on several different planes, so I think I would have to go somewhere that isn't so technoligically involved (hmmm...morgue's?), but I'd love to be a professional student (surely I can get paid for it, right?). I love to debate the scholars on BC, but I haven't the knowledge to keep up, yet. -
I would love to fundraise for non profit organizations and empower those who are vulnerable. I would advocate for those who don't have a voice

No thanks--on call 24/7 whether I feel like it or not and doing the job of 10 others is tiring. I don't want to spend that much time doing anything else.
If we can change it to a simple 8 hours a day, then maybe something like teaching cooking classes would be cool. -
I would love to spend it writing a novel-- or possibly renovating the humor-sci-fi one I'd written a few years ago. That would be terrific!

Can't decide...
-Start a community garden, or
-Create quilt designs, or
-Photography, or
-Teach art or practical science to second-graders, or
-Work (and hike) in a fantastic national park like Yellowstone, or Yosemite, or Crater Lake... -
Tricky question. I am guessing it has to be very different from what I currently do? Is that the point? I guess I wouldn't mind being UN Secretary General for a year.

Yeah - he is very modest, old Banksi. I think I MAY have changed my mind about changing my career for a day though.....am I allowed to do that? Having worked very hard ALL my life and being a single parent entirely responsible for 3 kids, I would like to be a pampered house wife, with money to burn, and do F all just for a day.

I don't really want to change what I'm doing. My job/business is great. I was able to take my family and travel for 11 months (June 2006 to May 2007) throughout the US while still being able to draw in a decent, full time income. It's awesome. I work a lot at times, but I also (most days) have the ability to go fishing, golfing, or goofing around if the mood suits me. I just work later that day or longer the next day. Not too shabby, huh?

I'm still in grad school and will be for a couple of years, but I just switched from working for an international organization working on policy, to working for a state organization working on policy for women, so I think I'm right where I need to be. I doubt I'll ever have one job for years on end though so I hope not to have to wish to hard to be where I hope to always be there.

Everything would stay the same except my salary could go much higher for a year. Hmm, could I become a philanthropist and take a portion of their income for a year.
