I live in Chicago, but i will have to vote for New York Style pizza here. Thin crust is the bomb. Chicago deep dish is way to cheesy. What do you guys prefer?

Hi Noob... haven't seen you for a while.

    I love Chicago blues.

Pizza, we don't have that sort here in Oz, but I love woodfired...

    NY pizza is the best!
  5. Anok
New York, and if anyone says otherwise I'll go Ninja on them!

  6. robertstevenson
Hands down NY (Brooklyn Style) pizza. . .
  7. hepp2
That's like asking french toast at the Meurice in Paris or french toastettes from mcdonald's. new york pizza is an incandescent deliciousness and chicago pizza is a doughy gooey mess.
    1. bloggernoob
ouch, if i was chicago, i'd be really offended. Mickey D's?
  8. Houseonahill
uh, CHICAGOSTYLE! I've got a move for ya Anok! Bring it on! :op
    1. Anok
Now I know you love Chicago and all, it's a great place....but New York is the place for pizza!

Beware! I will send my minions to your house, and make you eat nothing but Dominoes pizza for a week straight!
  9. timethief
We don't have those chain pizza joints where I live. We make our own and it's great! We have total control over what goes into them and how they are prepared so, we make our pizzas to the exact specs that we like the best. When we do go to a city we find the pizza to be disappointing.
    1. carlgalloway
Couldn't agree more, we do home-made pizza all the time, takes all of 30 minutes to make and cook and puts most pizza restaurants to shame.

I don't like deep dish (Chicago). It's nasty. I like plain cheese pizza with thin or "Regular" crust.
  11. PotatoChef
I grew up in New York so I will have to say New York pizza. However, every year there is a "taste contest" for pizza. Last year they declared the best tasting pizza winner to be in downtown Phoenix. I haven't tried it but I suppose it could be true.

i like EITHER the really thin, crispy "cracker" crust
    OR
the pizza pie from a really good chicago restaurant.

and pretty much nothing in between.

Having recently been fired as Domino's delivery dog for woofin down their 14-inch all meat pizza, Austin Girl's Fat Bastard the Beagle is now an exclusive fan of Pizza Hut's stuffed crust pizza. It's the one with the melted gooey cheese oozing from the crust.
  14. carriecrain
    Texas pizza. Ha, ha!! Okay...NY
    1. lulubelleb
Texas pizza? Yuk! I lived in North TX for 10 years. My boss would question my expense reports for my trips to NYC. Problem was I was under my per diem: pizza for dinner the first night, Chinese the second. HA!
  15. drdental
I've had some bad New York Pizza. I vote for Chicago. More for your money.
    1. Anok
Hmm, my list is getting longer....
  16. DeadRooster
I think I like all pizza. So far, I haven't had one I didn't like at least a little.
  17. kdawg68
Can I have both? I guess I'll go with Chicago overall though.
    1. Anok
      Ack! Not you Kdawg! No!!
    2. kdawg68
I love NY too - and like Mike, I always fold my pizza. But some of the best I've ever had was a chicago style from heaven.

Perhaps you should hitch me up in my trailer or ride me to NY so that I may discover the truth again?
    3. Anok
The real question is, where was that Chicago style made? Eh?

Can you make the trip all the way to NY, I know you've got stamina and all but still....I'm a demanding rider
    4. Houseonahill
      YEAH K!!
Anok, I have many ninja deterents...empty Chicago Style pizza boxes from Giordano's when flung properly have severed many heads!

And the mozzarella is a GREAT choking device!
  18. mikeny07
Pizza was invented by Italians and NYC makes the best pizza. I forgot the name of the first Italian pizza place in NYC that opened up and started selling pizza here. I just saw it on TV too.

The New York pizza taste the best. And we love to fold it here also.
    1. robertstevenson
There's also some great NY Pizza in Philly on South Street near Jim's Steaks
  19. mikeny07
The cannoli is another popular Italian pastry that you should try if you are in NYC. I love them. I had them since I was a kid.

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannoli
    1. Anniepooh
Oh, I love cannoli! Yum...yum...gonna send hubby out to get some at our favorite pizza joint.
  20. Anniepooh
New York pizza. I love a short crust, but Chicago style can be too much sometimes.
  21. mikeny07
I am happy I am Italian. I think we have the best food and cooks. I didn't even mention the pasta dishes yet.
    1. Anniepooh
Go! I just made carbonara last week and cannelloni the week before and chicken parmigiana tonight...gotta have it at least once a week.
  22. mikeny07
Are you Italian also? I like stuffed shells and lasagna. I get the same things all the time I eat out at Italian resturants. Ravioli is also good. I forgot a lot of the dishes. Chicken Parmigiana is nice also.
  23. Anniepooh
Nope-I'm Scots-Irish lol Mike, you don't read my blog! I just cook. A lot. A whole lot. With so many kids, I have a dinner party a night!
  24. kdawg68
Cacciatorre - did I spell that right? That stuff is bomb-diggity.
    1. Anniepooh
Yes...yum. Eggplant parmigiana is my favorite. But, this isn't pizza talk lol Sorry I got us off track...
  25. LGramlich
Nothing beats NY pizza. Gads, how I miss NY pizza!!!
  26. DineometerDeb
I don't like that Chicago is associated with that really thick stuff. I never ate it during the many years that I lived there and hadn't even heard of it until I moved. The real question is good quality pizza from an, authentic Italian restaurant or crappy chain store pizza. I vote for the real stuff. That you can't get in Tennessee where I live now.
  27. RTBjr73
Brooklyn Pizza!!!!!! But Chicago ain't no slouch either. You must understand, I live in St. Louis, "home" of thin pizza. disgusting.
  28. TonyB
See what what BC members are writing about pizza on their blogs, twitter, facebook, etc.

      LOL @ Tony
  29. ccRicers
Chicago style all the way!! But I may be biased since I'm from Chicago.
    1. bloggernoob
there's a pizza join in the gold coast, chitown pizza. makes new york(thin) pizza. it's probably the best pizza i've tasted. Just don't like the fact that chicago is associated with deep dish pizza.
    2. ccRicers
Is it because you don't like deep dish pizza, or you just don't like Chicago's way of making deep dish pizza?
    3. bloggernoob
don't like deep dish pizza. too much cheese. giovani's is highly over rated. i love a couple of blocks from that joint. not very good.
  30. mikeny07
Chain store pizza is not real pizza. It is not made the same way. You are just as better off with frozen pizza if you like chain store pizza.
  31. julyalim
Chicago pizza is good but I get constipated everytime I go to chicago to have deep dish pie.
  32. thegoodknife
I like to stack my chicago style on top of my new youk style and eat them both at once. travolta style.

  33. IrvCallaghan
I must agree with the dog with fleas.
Chicago home run inn pizza is the best.

  36. Houseonahill
