Child abuse and PTSD

Adult survivors of child abuse are often diagnosed as having PTSD. I'm convinced the one really good thing that may come from the Iraq war is the research being done on PTSD resulting from the signature injury of the war-brain trauma.
Whereas little money is available for research on the amelioration of effects of child abuse, there will be a lot of funding on PTSD for brain injured Iraq war victims.
Anyone who knows any one who went to war, or was abused as a child needs to see this video.

I suffered body/Somatic memories for years and didn't have a clue they were PTSD until I was a lot older.

Mine manifested itself in a stabbing pains in my private parts. I knew that it was related to my abuse but I didn't know what to do about it so I just put up with it. As I healed the pain slowly faded, but every once in a while I will get it. -
I've just applied to join the Canadian Forces. One of my fears isn't going to war... but coming home and bringing the war into my children's lives through PTSD. -

In December 1974, The New York Times reported that the CIA had conducted experiments on U.S. Children, during the 1960s. That report prompted investigations by both the U.S. Congress and a presidential commission.
