Do you love Christmas or is just something to have to make it through?

Why do you love Christmas or the holiday season?

If you dread December? Why?

What is the best Christmas you have ever had and why?

What was the worst Christmas you have experienced and why?

What is this? Christmas denial? Come on people! Do you mean to tell me that nobody on blogcatalog has experienced the joy of chestnuts roasting and carolers singing or the angst of the family airing their differences in the middle of dinner?

It's bad to be without a place to call your own anytime! I hope that things have improved since that time. Best wishes.

Haven't had a good one for the last 20 odd years. It, being essentially a family celebration, the ones without families get isolated. Being wet and cold is depressing too.

I am finding out the hard way that hot and damp is depressing weather for the holidays as well.

ranist22, from what I understand there are plenty of people who are expected to attend family celebrations that would gladly trade places with you.

Just curious but I wondered what is your idea of the PERFECT Christmas?

every christmas is a good christmas i think, but my most memorable christmas with my parents aunt, uncle, and cousin in southern spain. i can still see the 3 kings sitting in an installation in one of the plazas and one of them had black face paint and black gloves. thats christmas spirit for ya.

Some Christmas holidays are better than others, but they all have their shining moments.

I have to say that early in my life there were many christmas holidays that did not have ANY shining moments. glad to say those one's are over and I have more good memories than bad.

The worst christmas was the one after my grandad (run over by a car), my nana had died (slow death at home from cancer), my father was in prison (for abusing me) and we were reduced to a state of poverty. My mum, sis and I were still reeling from it all.

The Best, glad to say there are too many to list

Yes I love Christmas and all the silly traditions that go along with it (like the british christmas crackers), the lights, the food, the music, the smell of a tree, an excuse to buy presents for people I love or like.

jafabrit I admire you for having gone through so much and yet it's so obvious that you have not let the tragedy subdue your spirit. What an amazing example you set! Focusing on the good in life and doing our best with the bad is without a doubt the best course of action. Your story is excellent testimony that we can move beyond the sad days and come out ok.

I hope that this Christmas will be counted on the "GOOD CHRISTMAS" side of your list.
