Hey, I paid a lot for my 60" TV and you want me to throw it out?!!
Before I did that I'd give it to Jill Saxon, at least she'd appreciate it.

Apart from the news, I watche very little TV, preferring to get most of my entertainment online. No PC weekend might be a better idea for me.

I went almost 3 years without a TV. I kind of missed it in the beginning but then got used to it. I eventually hooked back up though, I missed the news. I did notice that all the news anchors got a lot older looking after 3 years, LOL.
To be honest, I enjoy TV. There's lots of great documentaries on the Discovery channel. I also enjoy Lost, Dexter ... and anything that can make me laugh is worth the cost of cable. -
We have one TV in our house. However, we don't have cable or satellite. Even with four kids ranging from 4th grade to 9th grade, we don't feel the urge to sit in front of the TV incessantly.
I did subscribe to Netflix. But, here's what we're watching:
**This will be a killer for some of you, I'm sure**
1. Gilligan's Island, Season 3 (They've watched the first two seasons and LOVED it.)
2. Hogan's Heroes (I forget which season we're on at the moment. However, they love Schultz, "I know nothing!")
3. Gomer Pyle. 1st season.
Next up? Not sure...maybe The Brady Bunch. Maybe the old Emergency! Series (Squad 51)...who knows. It certainly won't be CSI, House, Desperate Housewives, Medium, etc.
Yes, it's a bit cornball. But, it's simple and it's fairly innocuous. I find it refreshing to watch my kids watching TV shows (some in black and white) and enjoying the simplicity of them.
They don't need the constant barrage of blood, gore, promiscuity, and violence that modern TV has now. They don't need the absolutely horrible ads for Viva Viagra and all of the other crap. I don't need my teenage daughter watching Victoria's Secret commercials. I don't need my preteen boys watching them either. There's a time and place for that kind of exposure and in my opinion...it's not right now.
So, there's a little insight on the subject from me. ~~Adios.
