I have read conflicting things about this. I have some really long posts and in order to get my page to load faster I have decided to split them before it gets to any pictures with a "CLICK TO READ MORE HERE" link.

On problogger, Darren Rowse says that it is a good way to increase hits.

Personally I think it is annoying but I see the practicality in it....

What are your thoughts?

Hmm. I think it's the blogger's preference. If I, as the reader, am drawn into the post, I don't mind clicking to "read more." Then again, if the entry doesn't hook me at the start, I'm less likely to read the entire thing.

"a click is a vote of confidence from readers" - That's how I see it, I find it's a good way to increase page views (no one complained about it so far), and I installed the "full feed" plugin, so the text is not cut out in my rss feed

Thanks for telling me about the full feed plugin... that just saved a lot of potential issues... I am installing that right now

I'm not a big fan of read more button and that's why I didn't use it on my blog.
