In the AM I make zombie flicks seem not so far fetched

I'm not bothered whether it's healthy or not. We all have to die from something, so I wouldn't mind it to be from too much coffee
    1. BikiniHotline
This is true. However, making it the best, IMO, provides quality. And I am glad that coffee can be part of that.

Isn't it better to die from sex then coffee?its healthier and sweeter (depending on the sugar level of course)...

I drink only one cup per day and I'm aware that drinking coffee is not a healthy choice. As in most things moderation is key but working against that is our society of consumer crazed "sheeple", who throng to Starbucks and other chains so eager to give these cporations their money and give away their health while doing so. Thanks for bringing the recent studies and facts into focus in your well written blog post. (Comment left)

No Starbucks for this coffee crazed lady. Yuck - if I wanted burnt coffee, I'd leave mine on the burner all day, then drink it

I brew my own, and, I love grinding my own beans, too.

So do I and I do pay extra to get shade grown coffee. I live in a rainforest and I know how important it is to the health of our planet and all life on it to maintain a overhead canopy.
    3. BikiniHotline
Thanks TT and I totally agree that moderation is the key. I also grind my own. Also, very good point about our planet health. I will have to look into shade grown coffee....I never heard of that before. Where do you buy this TT?

These are interesting links about shade grown coffee and sustainable coffee
"Sustainable coffee is produced on a farm with high biological diversity and low chemical inputs. It conserves resources, protects the environment, produces efficiently, competes commercially and enhances the quality of life for farmers and society as a whole." -- Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center, First Sustainable Coffee Congress overview paper

It is supposed to help prevent alzheimers and has plenty of caffeine in it.

people that have asthma can use coffee to help w/ the attack
The first cup of coffee opens the arteries. When a person has more than one cup of joe or a very strong coffee then their heart rate increases and some people get the jitters. Coffee has antioxidant properties and is even used in facial creams and scrubs....

Absolutely. Some very good points. Thanks for sharing.

I have two cups at most in the morning that I brew at home. I'm not into the latte coffee craze but do enjoy a cup or two in the morning.

There are pros and cons about almost everything; moderation is the key, usually, and I LOVE coffee, especially in the morning. I seldom drink it any other time of day.

I'm more of a tea person...being the stereotypical English person! But I drink coffee like a maniac when I have deadlines even though I hate the stuff!
Current time: 00:19...Cups of coffee: 1
Expected coffee consumption by 10am: 5

If anyone has any alternatives to help me stay awake I would be happy to hear them!

2 caps per day is the recommended dose.

It certainly doesn't feel good for you, and I figure it isn't, but there are some advantages to drinking coffee and I still drink several cups a day.

Good grief I should have died a long time ago.

Coffee is actually not as bad for you as you think when you drink it in moderation. It has antioxidant abilities and can be used externally on your skin to tighten and smooth. I prefer to drink my coffee and have to have my cup in the morning. I used to drink five cups by noon but my friend introduced me to Hawaiian coffee. It's richer so I only have one or two cups in moderation. It has to be pure Kona so I order from konaluna.com which also saves me from dealing with coffee shops.

haven't they said that coffee is a mild anti-depressant? making you feel good alone is always something good for your health.
its all about how you approach coffee. best to enjoy it.

I read a lot of pros and cons about drinking coffee. A good thing about it is that it is actually rich in antioxidants. After all, coffeeberry (the whole fruit, not just the coffee bean) is one of the richest source of antioxidants there is.

In any case, I tried to live without that morning cup of coffee and I had never had the slowest, most sluggish days ever! I just had to go back to drinking coffee in the morning after that!!!

      its called addiction.

if they sold different addiction at starbucks you'd be drinking that instead...think about it.

I think I only drink coffee once in about 5 years, and that when there's nothing else available to drink. I admit it. I hate the taste of coffee. I like the way it smells, though. So why not just take the coffee grounds and make it into essential oils and diffuse it into the air? That would make more sense to me.

There is always going to be something good and bad behind everything. Therefore, moderation is key. Thanks all for sharing though. Has made for interesting conversation.

Its topics like coffee that get bounced around depending what year it is. Oh, so, it's not healthy now? I wonder who paid which company to say that.

Moderation is for the birds They may as well replace my blood with this stuff and get it over with.

I do hear that coffee has been used for liver flushes. Has anyone else received reliable information on this?
    1. BikiniHotline
I haven't heard of this. However, it sure works as a diuretic for your kidneys.

I use a French press--drink 2-3 cups in the morning.

    I would die without coffee....

...so, I'd say that definitely makes it healthy....

it wouldn't be me who'd die if they took away my coffee. luckily my sons work for a coffee pusher so I get my fix regularly.

I exist because of coffee: I drink, therefore I am. Actually, in Seattle they do random Caffiene Tests (like the UT they do to test for drugs) and if you are caught NOT using you can get fired, or they can take you away to Starbuck's Headquarters for treatment to gradually increase your CBL (Caffinated Blood Levels) until you are ready to stay up three nights in a row without the slightest bit of feeling tired.
