Over 2000 readers came with me to Baghdad this summer. It was great having you there. I even did a BC question time with the group of Iraqis that I was working with. This week I am off to Pakistan. If you want to follow my experience I am on 4nomadic.wordpress.com/

I'm very interactive and welcome your questions and thoughts.

    No thanks Nomady, I went there in 1982. They locked me in a room at immigration and the guy said he was going to steal everything I had and never let me out. I had crossed over at the border to the East of Amritsar. I would never go back there because I was abused as a foreigner and about 40 people spat on the door of the room I was staying. I have no time for Pakistan, but I will say that there are good people everywhere.

      @petrol

      I got locked in a room at the India Pakistani border Wagha. The head guy of immigration tried to take all my money. He kept me locked in and would not let me out. it was 1982

      The other incident I won't bother, it was gross.

    What a shame you had such a bad trip. Maybe coming with me virtually will be less painful.

      I was just passing through because I had a plane to catch from Rawalpindi. It was easier to go there than to Karachi, I went up through Amritsar and across.

      I bought a plane ticket in Penang in a cafe, and then went to Colombo, then got a plane across to the South of India Tirichupali, and wandered around India and Nepal for some time
