I have a new site with an idea I thought of within it (the site itself) but it is using free someware available through the GNU thing, but which copywrite would be best for my site?

The software you use for your blog is irrelevant in copyright terms. Those licenses have to do with whether you can modify or distribute that software, not whether you can use it to make your blog.

Regarding my content, I use a creative commons 3, but that is a personal decision. You can see what it means over at creativecommons.org.

The GNU thing you mention is for software, I think.

Public Domain would mean you claim no rights whatsoever, and anyone could do anything with your posts or pieces of your posts that they felt like.

I went for All Rights Reserved in the end, will change it once I learn more

Safe move. I assume your're also including a copyright message like at the bottom of this page?
