People aren't doing so well with relationships as they use to. Could it be that women are giving it up when they should be saving it for marriage?

yeah, putting the burden on women is rather twentieth-century

Because men use to be the ones manipulating the women by stating, what are you saving it for?

do you think people should stick to "kicking the tires"?
    3. crpitt
If you are looking for a tire.
    4. Agit8r
      you mean... a car?

*American to British lost in translation moment*
    5. crpitt
No I knew what you meant, kicking the tires isn't the best way to look for a car either.

so.... one might want to check out... under the hood o_0
    7. Agit8r
or did you mean.... taking it for a quick spin?
    8. crpitt
If by that you mean seeking a profound emotional, spiritual and physical connection, then yes.
    9. Agit8r
people get SO attached to their cars over there...

Bad analogy because shoes wear out... unless you have a premeditated version of marriage already?

Odd isn't it that men are not giving it up at the same time women are giving it up to them, isn't it? But what the hell do I know anyway.

I would rather wait for marriage, but if I knew it was gonna be the person I married then....

I would not marry a stranger. I married a man after being with him for 20 solid years.

What does "giving it up" before marriage have to do with the longevity of marriage?

I suspect marriages are failing more because of the dynamics between the partners than the premarital sexual activity (or lack of activity) by either party.

As far as "relationships" go, I suspect the refusal of a woman to "give it up" will end more relationships than extend them.

I disagree... afterall women had the power in her hands before she started giving it up. Don't forget, who was begging whom? Also if sex is secondary and getting to know the compatibility of the other was primary there would be less communicables disease going around and divorces - but who am I but a counselor.

Question: Could you consider a person for marriage without havng sex with that person?

No, I most certainly would not.

Question: People aren't doing so well with relationships as they use to. Could it be that women are giving it up when they should be saving it for marriage?

I find your focus on women and their virginity to be biased and I see no clear connection from it to the breakdown of relationships.

IMO the reason relationships fail is because the couple did not make the correct selection of a partner in the first place. They had unrealistic expectations and they failed to insure that the correct foundations for a happy and fulfilling long term relationship existed.
