I have always preferred curvy woman who have voluptuous boobies and booties. Skinny woman without shape or assets just don't do anything for me.
What is your personal preference and this goes out to guys and to `girls that like girls.........

They do. But women keep buyin the fashion magazines so it continues. Women need to boycott those magazines and demand that the industry portray women in more realistic ways.
It's a big problem because most of these models don't even really look like their pictures. I know because I did a small amount of modeling when I was younger--almost all photos are airbrushed so the model looks thinner than she really is. And what this does it to create an ideal that isn't even possible to attain.
The effects of this are eating disorder, which are now occurring to girls (and even boys now) at a younger and younger age. I read an article in a journal a while back that talked about little girls--as young as SIX and SEVEN developing eating disorders! That's terrible! -
@agit8r--you are exactly right. Women believe the standard is 'thin' though--so that's what they see as the idea. The women have totally bought into the fashion mags propoganda that you have to be reed thin.
And this is how so many terrible self-esteem problems begin--because all women are striving for this ideal that isn't even possible! -
If we go back to Zizek and Lacan: desires are not "natural", they're taught, they're a societal construct. They even change from age to age. A good example of this lay in Pieter Paul Rubens' painting "Bacchanalia":

Note how the women are possessed of real life curves. The "ideal" female body image is a learned construct; the prevalence of the media forcefeeding this particular epitome of desire means that it is more difficult to shake off or escape.

When I think of perfection, I think of Reon Kadena:

But I do prefer some curves to the "stick figure" look.-
You call that perfection when it comes to a women?
She is very cute and lovely, but I think her body looks like she is 10 yrs old with the exception of her boobies.
That's not a curvy women?
She fall's under Slim, not Curvy.

I actually find it a bit annoying, because that is supposedly the ideal of how Asian women are supposed to look. I do not look that way. I am not porcelain fair and I am not rail thin with cute little boobs.
Also, it looks like her nose and eyes have been surgically altered to be more "white" and that is so not cool. -
Stillthinking,
I am with you. I found that comment to be really annoying, and I like Kdawg, but....come onnnnnn.
and.....
I am all for surgically altering anything IF it’s going to make you feel better about yourself, then why not. Fake boobs included. Though, personally I wouldn’t do that one thing, b/c I don’t have that problem. Lol
BUT….other stuff, oh hell yeah I would do it.
Only problem I have is that I am to chicken to get some real stuff done. I can’t stand pain, but hoping to be braver in the near future. LoL -
Angie,
I don't have a problem with plastic surgery itself. I have a problem with plastic surgery to alter specifically ethnic physical traits, such as adding an eyelid crease to reshape Asian eyes to appear rounder and more European.
Did I say that Emmanuelle Beart is my girl crush?
I meant to say she is my fantasy of having a beautiful French lover in Paris for a few days.

Reon's a famous model - and she's famous for "them." They actually aren't that big, so my guess is they are all natural.
Certainly not "photoshopped" or "airbrushed."
