Cutprice London Olympics - Naked Athletes?

I saw a letter in a newspaper where the writer suggested that to cut down on costs the athletes at the 2012 London Olympics could do their sports naked, like they did in ancient Greece.
Aside from our unpredictable (or predictable i.e. usually rain) weather this idea quite appeals! What do you think?

But the British haven't. We have a laugh over here in Germany at how they cover themselves up in saunas.

Why would they want to cut down on costs? And who's costs? The athlete's uniforms are already paid for.
I think they should bring pankration back myself. -

There has been a bit of talk about the cost of the Olympics and how much money would be available. I think the general idea of the letter I saw was saying a lot of money gets lavished on particularly the opening ceremony and how we could save money. You say the athletes uniforms are already paid for - by who?

Well all the money saved on uniforms could go to charity. What's wrong with naked martial arts? Quite like the sound of it myself. Wrestlers don't wear much and it's not that different is it:) only joking!!
