well, according to his rep anyways.
it's important to keep in mind that pr reps have a duty to make their client look good - even after death. So, it's hard to know for sure what happened.
Friday - if it turns out to be accidental it would be because of auto-erotic asphyxiation...basically cutting off oxygen to the brain to heighten sexual pleasure. Quite a few people die from this every year -
do have a link or news or URL where it says it was an accident?
I must say, that was my first impression (bangkok, cord, some sexual kinky accident) ... I saw him on TV last fall and he looked good for a 71 year old .. but - I mean, he was 72 now ..
Even if it was an accident - I think the truth of that would be much better to know than a suicide. Regardless ..
Rest In Peace David Carradine.

Zen Moment:
Ikkyu, the Zen master, was very clever even as a boy. His teacher had a precious teacup, a rare antique. Ikkyu happened to break this cup and was greatly perplexed. Hearing the footsteps of his teacher, he held the pieces of the cup behind him. When the master appeared, Ikkyu asked: "Why do people have to die?"
"This is natural," explained the older man. "Everything has to die and has just so long to live."
Ikkyu, producing the shattered cup, added: "It was time for your cup to die." -

I never really like him in Kung Fu as it was originally developed as a role for Bruce Lee. The network thought they couldn't sell a TV series with an Asian lead actor, hence David Carradine.
Networks still choke on that one. Asians on TV are invariably supporting cast members or really hot Asian women dating white men.

I can’t believe it was a suicide. What possible reason could Carradine have to take his own life? He was filming a movie…life was good. He was 72 years old. If someone suffered from issues of dark depression, 72 wouldn’t be the year to express that. I don’t think it was a suicide. My guess is something went amiss in Bangkok; maybe he got involved in something that ended badly. I predict this will be a criminal act.

From interviews I’ve seen with David Carradine, he did not strike as a guy with depression. Just the opposite. I could be wrong…he was an actor. Just doesn’t smell right to me. The idea of this happening in Bangkok makes me suspicious. Anything can happen in Bangkok…

"Initially, police said they believed Carradine had committed suicide and were not seeking anyone else in connection with the death. "There is no trace of fighting in the hotel room and the room was locked from inside. There is no sign of bruising on his body," police official Pirom Janthapirom said. "We are investigating from where he got the rope because it does not seem it was from the hotel."
However, there was no suicide note and an unnamed officer claimed the death may have been an attempt at auto-eroticism.
The circumstances are similar to those surrounding the unexplained death of Michael Hutchence, the INXS singer who was found hanged in a Sydney hotel room in 1997. "
Wow.... What a way to go... -

The news is out and definite that it was not suicide
A maid in the hotel found the 72-year-with a rope tied around his neck and his testicles. Police said an autopsy was being carried out to determine the cause of death, but a spokesman for the actor's family said they were "100 per cent" certain he did not commit suicide.
