I was thinking of start featuring on my blog

elgiganteverdoso.blogspot.com

some death/doom/black metal bands. I don't like them very much, but maybe I could get more readers to my blog. What do you think? All feedback I can get will be welcome. Thanks in advance.

I think any rock/heavy music you get would be good, try a rock ballad section, rock classics, heavy metal gods, bands that change members, rock wannabes

Sounds good Chris. Since I started my blog I've been thinking of making a weekly "women in rock/metal" section, but I can't think of a proper title for it. Any ideas?

Sounds really good, could be some good link bat as well, evanesance, girlschool, heart, bonnie tyler (:P)

Just my two cents, but while you might get traffic from that area, if you're really not passionate about that type of music, I'd say it might be better to not have it as one of your focuses. People can tell what a blogger is passionate about when they cover a topic. If you focus on the stuff you love, you never really run out of material.

I agree, you should only really feature on something that you have a genuinne interest in, not just to increase traffic to your blog.

yeah... yeah... like Lita Ford and Vixen :-)
    2. jrgarralda
Lita Ford was the first I was thinking of

I think I'll definitely start a "women in rock/metal" section. Any suggestions for a title? I'll give proper credit, of course

mmm I don't like them... I suppose you could get more readers, but would your reviews really be honest if you are not into them?
    1. awannabe
this was in response to the death metal music lol

Can I suggest the hair bands of the late eighties or are they too lame?
uh... Tesla, Poison (eek), White Snake, Guns N Roses...

Maybe you just need another blog for another genre

will you be focusing on these "older" ladies? cos there are a bunch of talented young women in Metal music today that you could feature on also.

Not only the "older" ones will be featured. Lita ford is one of them, but also Tarja Turunen (ex-Nightwish), Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil), or Floor Jansen (After Forever) to mention a few ones

Dorothy Pesch. But then, I don't think link baiting would work. Especially if you're link baiting to pretty obscure genres.

If you want to link bait, rather go for indie and worship Radiohead or something.

What about Gothic and Industrial Metal?

I really liked 16 Volt, but their name remains relatively unknown.

I guess Rammstein might be considered Industrial Metal.

I like Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, and Type O Negative. The really heavy Death and Doom stuff I don't care much for either.

Lita Ford..haha. Was she considered metal? Is she still around? You're making me feel old here.

Gothic metal is one of my favorite metal genres. On August 4 I posted someting about a Norwegian band called 'The Sins Of Thy Beloved', they're gothic metal IMHO, have you heard of them? And as far as Rammstein (industrial/alternative metal) is concerned, probably I'll post something about them soon

If you don't like them, why bother? Why not handle music you DO like?

I'm listening a bit to The Sins of Thy Beloved on MySpace now. I'd never heard of them.

This is a current Industrial Metal favorite of mine at the moment:
