Blogging is the only medium through which any person, regardless of race, gender, education, socio-economic background or sexual orientation can easily share their thoughts with the entire world. Though many take this for granted, it is a very significant accomplishment for the human race.

Blogging is defined as a personal journal. To me it is much more. It is educating, sharing and building a community of loyal friends and followers. Blogs keep people up to date on current events and life as we know it. To blog or not to blog, that my friend, is the question

Blogging is an art of merrymaking with texts, images & videos.

The word 'weblog' was coined by Jorn Barger, owner of the long-established and extremely popular robotwisdom.com site. Weblogs or 'blogs' are online journals, and weblogging or 'blogging' is a way of sharing thoughts, information and ideas with others online.

Hah, you are asking for education. Here is from brittannica,

Despite the overheated phrase “every person a blogger,” blogs are not likely to replace the mainstream media. Instead, blogs will continue to complement existing news media by allowing anyone to set up a Web site dedicated to his or her particular interest or perspective. Blogs now exist on a vast array of topics, from the latest electronic gadgets to books and movies to sex and politics, and over time the most successful blogs may be those that cater to a wide audience while not offending an even wider group. Or success may be redefined. If the purported convergence of electronic technologies—cable television, movies, and the Internet—actually takes place, blogs may become gatekeepers to the new digital frontier, making criticism and discussion an essential element of search, the most basic Internet function. Hence, search engines such as Google and Yahoo are working to make blogs part of their respective digital empires. Similarly, America Online, Inc., has bought certain blogs to acquire both technological cachet and access to the blogs' readership. Blogs may become the new “portals” to the Web.

Nor is blogging the final frontier of individual expression online. Podcasting, the use of a personal computer to create a “radio show” that users can download and play on their computer or portable music player, became the “bleeding edge” of personal performance in 2005. Podcasting derives its name from the nearly ubiquitous iPod, Apple Inc.'s portable music player. Apple's iTunes software has also played a crucial role in the spread of podcasting, as users can access thousands of podcasts for free with a simple click of their computer's mouse. Anyone with a computer and a microphone can create an audio podcast, and the release of Apple's video iPod in 2005 set the stage for video podcasting.

OOPS! You didn't read this Read Before Posting (community guidelines for forum posting) www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/read-before-posting-1

We are not allowed to link drop on this forum or to create link drop threads, or to create link only threads, or to create link exchange threads.

Why link dropping is not in your best interest at BC
We can click any username here and arrive on a BC profile page (that counts for a BC view stat for the applicable member). We can then find the blog url on that BC profile page and click it (that counts for a BC hit stat for the applicable member). Those stats are considered and included in our BC blog rank. And our blogs are positioned in both the Directory and on the BC tag pages in accord with our BC blog rank.

So every time you drop your blog link into a comment on this forum you are losing potential "BC blog rank juice", and you are breaking the guidelines for posting to this forum. The link dropping you do can and will be reported and Admin will remove the links you dropped.

I guess i'll just have to check your profiles then. Sorry.

You didn't know about the rules and the reasons until I told you. How will other members know if no one points them to the rules and explains why it's not in their best interst to break them?

More to the point as bloggers are presumably readers then to what can we attribute the actions of those who continue to link drop after they have been pointed to the rules and given the explanation? I assume they are completely bereft of morals and ethics. What other reasonable conclusion can one reach?

Blogging is best expressed in the name itself...BLAH! BLAH! BLAH! + Keep a log of all the blah blurbs.

The challenge is to rise above the blah blurbs and to write something that's meaningful to others from one's own perspective in the nether-nether lands of one's own consciousness.

Blogging represents your independent & original thoughts, personal feelings and your way of life.

It is used to express who you are, what you are thinking and can be seen as a personal diary of your experiences.
