Here's mine...
Sweet,funny,sensitive,but not a cry baby,SMART,can actually take care of his real woman's needs,not self centered,can hold a convo that doesn't end with baby girl hand me a beer,oh and of course a GR888 daddy!
Can be nice when he doesn't want something for being nice....

Is that too much to ask? What's your definition?

    A real man doesn't fit in definitions
    1. jeremyjanson
      I like this answer best. I actually prefer this to NP's definition on the grounds that NP's implies that carrying about manliness or your masculinity is necessarily a bad thing. Not that it's necessary, but it's not inherently bad.
    2. nothingprofound
      Not a bad thing, Jeremy, just not a necessary one.
  5. nothingprofound
    Someone who doesn't care if he's a real man or not.

  6. accappas
    A real man always takes appropriate and necessary action in situations without control or manipulation of his ego. A real man, regardless of his personal lifestyle or orientation, is aware of the difference between the illusion and the wall...

    I don't have a set definition - more of a list of characteristics he shouldn't have because I just won't tolerate it...such as lying, cheating, physically/mentally/emotionally abusive, drinking problem, drug use.... anything beyond that - I have to look at the whole package because there may be some qualities I value more than others....can't get into the whole "daddy" thing b/c I don't have kids and who knows if I will in the future - and if someone ISN'T a father, how do you measure him up to being a "good daddy" ?
    1. alivasim
      hmmm..good dat u have a list of it..
  16. GeminiMommy
    self confidence. insecurity is so unattractive and it can kill a relationship....

    Although I don't mind mama's boys because if he treats his mom good odds are he will treat u right.
    1. brianomaracroft

  20. hatingtherain
    A real man buys me things , like shoes or perhaps a new purse, whenever I want. I shouldn't even have to say anything, he should just automatically know I need something new and pretty.
    1. alivasim
      damn u go needy girl..
  21. FarrukhSiddiqui
    A real man is one who is respectful, confident, responsible, and who has a strong sense of honesty and integrity..... One who has feelings and doesn't try to act like he doesn't. He treats his Mother with respect, along with all others. He treats his wife the same way he wants to be treated. He puts his kids at the top of his list, but recognizes tough love along with giving his unconditional love. He is someone that puts his family before others. I think enough... :-)
  22. HollytheHousewife
    Yea,that's good except putting family before anything....while that is SOOOO GOOD!!!!
    Ted would get mad at me if I was at my step-dad's mission taking clothes,or really just going to talk to the guys there. He said I shouldn't give a rats ass,they have nothing to do with me...

    ALl these descriptions i saw here are described in one simple answer "A MAN WHO FEARS GOD, IS A REAL MAN" for he knows he will only cry to Him and he answers his prayers. MONEY, STRONG, BIG MUSCLE, CALL IT ALL ARE REDUCED TO NOTHING WITHOUT JESUS. TRUST ME!
    1. HollytheHousewife
      I agree muthumbi...

      I just heard a cute saying doesn't really have anything to do with this thread tho...

      7 days without GOD makes one WEAK
    2. mirrormirrormag
      This is the best answer yet! A God Fearing Man's priority will be to please God therefore resulting in pleasing you.

    Because just sometimes someone else has nailed it...

    If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
    If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
    But make allowance for their doubting too,
    If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
    Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
    Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
    And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

    If you can dream–and not make dreams your master,
    If you can think–and not make thoughts your aim;
    If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
    And treat those two impostors just the same;
    If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
    Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
    And stoop and build ‘em up with worn-out tools:

    If you can make one heap of all your winnings
    And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
    And lose, and start again at your beginnings
    And never breath a word about your loss;
    If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
    To serve your turn long after they are gone,
    And so hold on when there is nothing in you
    Except the Will which says to them: “Hold on!”

    If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
    Or walk with kings–nor lose the common touch,
    If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
    If all men count with you, but none too much,
    If you can fill the unforgiving minute
    With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
    Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
    And–which is more–you’ll be a Man, my son!

    –Rudyard Kipling
