Much has been made of our dependence on foriegn oil to meet our energy needs in the United States of America. But it is not a dependence on foriegn oil that is the the problem. Its the fact that we have an OIL (carbon) based economy that ensures we can not simply stop using OIL. We must have an economic equivalent to fill the vaccum left as oil is done away with.

The new GREEN or Hydrogen economy is the plan. THEY are working on establishing a HYDROGEN infrastructure to slowly replace the phased out gasoline pumps. We will still have "GAS" pumps, but instead of complex carbon chain fuels, we will be filling our tanks with Hydrogen.

The problem is...both the Government and the Energy Cartels will still be charging you for Hydrogen. You will still have to buy your power from someone and it will be marked up and taxed and so forth and so on. Sure, it may be better for the environment than cabon based fuels, but will WE be better off for it?

There are a number of hydrogen powered vehicles in the major automakers design and implementation pipelines, and most are not scheduled even for limited production until 2012 or later. Essentially, they are all going to work about the same. High pressure Hydrogen storage tanks, Hydrogen Fuel Cell, Battery bank, Electric motor. None of the designs will include a Hydrogen on Demand system, because if they did, you would not have to stop and buy Hydrogen from a filling station.

This is certainly true of the automobile industry, but, if you think about the other possible applications, the same technology could be used to power homes, without being tied to the electric companies GRID. Whole home generators running on Hydrogen On Demand. Not only would you be free of the oil companies but you would also be free of the electric companies.

I am not describing some mythical Holy Grail. I am talking about working solutions available today. They are not commercially available, but available for FREE to anyone who is willing to "Do It Yourself".

President Barack Obama today made reference to our forefathers and the environment and hardships that they endured and the courage it took for them to declare thier independence because they knew that not declaring it would be far worse. He called upon us today during his Inaugural Address to show that same courage in moving our nation forward.
