Describe your Blog Catalog Icon. What's the story behind that image?

So what's the story behind my smile? My younger brother took that smile pic of mine at the airport while I was watching our sis and our brother-in-law kissing. =) That kiss really showed how they missed. It's been 3 years since they last saw each other. And my bro? He was really quick to take a pic of my facial expression/reaction at that moment. Sort of teasing me. I cropped the whole image just showing my SMILE as you can see. =)

It's Bob Dylan...because I get tired of my avatars after a few days...if this thread sticks around for a while, it'll probably be something else by the time some people read this...

Wow! What a story! As for my avatar, I took it while I was on my way to meet my GF (after more than a month of not seeing her). hehehe... How I miss her during that time.

Wow. Um- whatever you're into I guess...voyeurism is all the rage these days!
Mine is the Stig. Bow down. -

My avatar is me at a bar and some girl I know wanted a picture of me and I turned to her and she took the pic. Nothing too dramatic. I did get drunk later that night, haha.

Darling, we're not that different, lol.
Our culture has become so immersed with reality television, pointless consumerism and junk food as of late and not even Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is immune to the credit crunch.
In fact, I fear that in a matter of years, the Union Jack will move away from being associated as a symbol of right wing nationalism to one representing freedom or whatever, lol.

A friend of mine took this of me when I was getting ready to sing. I am holding a microphone and was trying to listen intently to the drummer's beat of the song to find my place...I liked the black and white image, and it seems to fit me perfectly.. so that's my story and I am sticking to it!

My husband is Hindu so I wear the red dot on my forehead. This photo is a closely cropped picture that includes one of my eyes and a "fancy" dot.

Last year, my parents and I attended the Idaho Civil War Reenactment. After the re-enactors fired the cannon, the crowd was dispersing and I happened to see someone getting a picture with the cannon. I told my dad I wanted one too, so we quickly went over there and my dad snapped that shot while I pretended to fire it! Someday I'm going go back and pay the large fee to fire it for real!
The picture actually turned out as a perfect fit for my blog, so I decided to make it as the header, and also my avatar! -
Mine is a picture of me, drinking a cup of tea in a hotel room on my first weekend away with the woman I eventually married.

Saw the pic on Art.com and thought it was too cute to pass up.

I went to the zoo years back, there was a silver bowl of fruit salad in it, and I thought, oh, very nice vegetarian lunch. And then I looked up and there was a very cute little guy looking at me, he was a red panda. And I thought, wow, you are beutiful.
I used to use my own picture but I found that people would insult me if they disagreed , but people like the panda and are often not willing to insult the panda.

These guys are at the zoo where I saw my first red panda -

It's a song about Krishna, I can't give you the exact translation
Gopala is the beloved Lord of the Gopi's, the cow herders that Krishna used to steal the butter from
Radha is the female aspect of Krishna
The murali is the flute that Krishna would play
Nanadala, Krishna is the beloved son Nanda
There is more to it, but whenever anyone mentions Krishna, that song plays in my head, it's a beautiful tune.
I don't speak that language but am familiar with the underlying idea of what it is saying -

I had an entrecard contest to design mine. This is the best. It doesn't really reflect my blog though. I just haven't made the time to improve it. Visual things really aren't my specialty.

This pic was taken when me and a couple of friends were sitting under a tree and we were meditating for world peace

Mine is so goofy - it started out as a joke. A friend ask me - how does the family tell the differece between when you're playing on the computer and working on the computer - and I said - well, I put on my "writer's hat, of course!" Next day - she brought me this redicilous cap, and then took a pic. And the reason it's black and white is because that cap is soooooo pink - unholy unimaginable unspeakable - PINK.

Mine is a car-wash that I operate in my off-time...
no wait, that's not true. it's a random car wash in Vancouver that however spells out my name (AR ASH) when seen at a specific angle and it's neon! When I first saw it I was thrilled by this discovery (i still am). -
I was the first person to respond to this thread, identifying my avatar as Bob Dylan.
Oh, Bob, what's happened to ya? -
It has the words Bookcalendar A Blog About Books in writing on it. Underneath the words is a picture of a book. The background is clouds against a blue sky. I don't know I could say the sky symbolizes thought.
Someone complained that my last image did not look professional so I replaced it with this one. -

I needed a pic for my bio on my website - so I snapped it myself with my digicam as I was writing it - cropped & resized w/Photoshop and went on with business... and I just use it here and wherever else I need to use a "me" icon.

Mine used to be me, but it was suggested that perhaps I shouldn't have a personal pic -given my whole desire to be 'annymous'. (duh me!) So this was a quick pick that I chose because it just speaks to me. It's not easy to photograph sunsets, and this one was right in my back yard on a cheapo cam and it came out just like it looked to my eyes at the time.
Pictures of my daughter sleeping, and sunsets... can't take enough of em. -
It's my logo - was mindlessly sketching one day and loved the end result. It looks way cooler in black, but BlogCatalog stretches it too much.
Good call on the blog topic! -

Mine is our logo. We had a few to choose from and then finally settled on the cute dog holding the letter "e". :-)
-
It was the only pic I had of myself on the computer I set it up on. Wish I had a better story than that...
-
Can you like show your whole avatar picture ?
I'm sure everybody here wants to see your smiling face ;-) -

My avatar's changed something like three times since this thread started. I do it to irritate Drowsey Monkey.
This one's a friend's dog, named Fargo. I wrote some poems about him here:

Ashley and Mary-Kate have had a disagreement in the boardroom! Mary-Kate likes to party, while Ashley is an ambitious business woman. The tension is great. Learn more about it here:

It is me chopping down a 30 foot tree in front of my house with an axe because my parents thought it would fall on the house in a couple years (it was a couple feet away from my window).

Mary-Kate got demoted by Ashely because she parties too much. We at starcasm felt compelled to make a meaningful sketch about the situation.
