If it wasn't for desperate housewives Ekim would never have sex in the city....or the country for that matter.

As shows they don't really compare, I mean one's a soap-type drama and the other was a comedy.

Anyway, I enjoyed SATC ... haven't really watched DH since the 2nd season.

Which one was which? (serious question)
    2. sharpodue
SATC is the one with Sarah Jessica Parker and DH is the one with Eva Longoria. This is really wierd because in the UK these shows are huge!!! Like Mega huge

Desperate Housewives is a soap-opera type drama, with some humour.

Sex and the City was a comedy.

Both are good, I just got tired of the story line in Desperate Housewives and haven't watched it in a while. While Sex & the City was always fresh & funny and I saw every episode, some twice.

@sharpoue - those shows are huge in the US & Canada as well, you're just getting responses from people who obviously don't watch them.

Thanks for the clarification Drowsey. I've only seen commercials or snippets for both, and based on those it could have gone either way.

Never saw SATC and wouldn't watch DH.

I don't get or understand either. Although my wife was addicted to Sex and the City. Then again, I didn't get nor understood "Friends", "Beverly Hills 90210" or "Melrose Place". Just flop me down in front of "American Dad", "Family Guy", "My Name is Earl" and "Cosmos" and I'm good

    Desperate Housewives, all the way.

I liked the first season of Desperate Housewives...full of really great dark humor. But, then, it got a lot darker and a lot less humorous....

I think I saw the first five minutes of the first episode of Sex in the City before turning it off in horror at these vain, shallow, insipid women....
    1. DrowseyMonkey
That's part of the humour dr jay. Like sienfeld...the characters were quite despicable really, but it was still funny.

Anyway, what can you tell about a show in a few minutes? To each their own. I'd sit and watch reruns of SATC anytime. It's funny stuff.
    2. drjay1966
I could tell I'd rather die than watch any more.

Then, maybe it's that, before watching that five minutes, I'd heard so many women around me saying they loved the show because they could really relate to the characters, which I certainly never heard anyone say about George Costanza....

it is really baffling me how both these american programs are adored by the british public, yet seemingly not really bothered about by americans (assuming that most people here are from the US)...

    ...its really quite strange.
    1. DrowseyMonkey
it's just these few bloggers responding...trust me, those shows are HUGE in the US and here in Canada.

I must say I was a big fan of Sex in the City which was questionable to number of people including my wife. Hey, it was good stuff. Don’t Judge!!

    Definitely SATC!
