I used to look words and information up at the library. I even carried a pocket dictionary.
But, now I whip out my phone and google everything.
Do you still go to the library or just use the internet?

Depends what kind of information I want...If I'm looking up the definition of a word and my computer is on I use the internet, if it's easier to get out a dictionary I'll use that.

It seems to be the trend to use the internet for reference now. Publishers now longer publish straight-forward reference books because no one is buying them..they just use the internet. That's why there's been a sudden trend for entertaining and comic reference books, that's the only kind anyone will buy now.

I may start out with a reference book but often use info from the internet for more up to date references. Plus I can get a variety of opinions, rather than a certain bias. I love search engines. What did we ever do before?

I do most of my research online because it is easier to find more up to date resources than going to the library. Now I only go to the library when I need a quiet place to work on my computer.

Why go to the library when you can go to a coffee house. Win-Win

Because the library has free Wi-Fi and the coffee houses near me don't.

This question made me think about the card catalogs that I used to use when I went to the library to find books.....do they still have those things? I can honestly say I don't own a dictionary anymore I use the internet pretty much for all my research since most reference material is posted there and is credible.

If I'm looking for a definition of something I prefer a Webster. Just information though the internet unless I can make a 300-400 mile trip to Cleveland. I could live at The Cleveland Public Library.
