Did anyone design their own blog template?

Both my blogs were designed using basic WP themes and then editing the CSS, HTML and PHP to be "my own". With some newer client projects I enjoy using the Plainscape theme because it is almost blank and easy to edit.
Plainscape theme: wordpress.org/extend/themes/plainscape
Who else has designed their own theme or edited an existing theme to be original?
My latest one you won't find on BC is a redesign for my company. This was also built off Plainscape, however it is not complete yet.

I used a ready made theme that I edited to better suit me. I think I should have done more though to be honest, but laziness took the better of me... As per usual.
The theme is on my blog at www.sebastyne.net -
I used a basic template and then customised for individuality.
I'm looking to make the page wider... which I'll probably do next
I think the more you can customise it, the better. I'm not that fond of blogs that look like each other - especially where you can clearly identify the template picked.
You've done a great job. -
I started with 'this-a-way' which I think is the most popular blogger template. I've customized it so much it's unrecognizable - I tried making it look like bricks and blocks to stay with my 'web development' theme.
Truth is that I'm not impressed with what I've done. The load time is good, I'm just not super thrilled with how it looks.
I've ignored this for now and decided to concentrate on content rather than design, however - when I get some free time(is there such a thing??) I am planning a full redesign.-
I hear ya, im always planning a redesign of my personal sites..usually it takes about a year to happen haha.

I designed mine from scratch. I wanted it to look like a website with an integrated blog.. which it is. I coded it from the main Wordpress template. It's all CSS and it was a pain in the #$%.
