Did You Know That Not All BC Members Are Americans?

Topics: just get along, we are individuals
Clashes of views either political, religious and personal is so evident in the threads.
One can not simply push to the other whatever belief they subscribe to.
For one because each person is an individual with different life experiences, culture they grew up with and all other factors we could ever imagine.
I am not American so I take a step back and not comment really in US politics because I don't know anything about it aside from what I see and read in the net and news.
Blog Catalog is to catalog blogs all over the world I believe, not just Americans, coz if it was for Americans I would not have been accepted in here or my blog.
Can we all just get along and not attack each other on a personal note, because really we don't know each other in person and not know who this avatars we see in here.
If you feel it's getting too much, log-out of BC and come back some other day or time maybe you are just having a bad day.
Exchange of opinions, share of views, learn from another but not persecute. If you simply do not like the personality of the other because of the comments or threads they post, it's so easy to ignore and move along and find another thread or avatars to talk with right?
Peace!

A good debate is heartening. I'm a crazy proud American. Hearing something different is excellent. It doesn't bother me if it makes you a bit angry. Canadians are well Canadians. Just like Brazilians are well Brazilians. It is like this, why don't you like you Americans? Well because they are from America. Or Why don't you like Mexicans? Well because they are from Mexico. Or why don't you like British people, well because they are British.

Why are so many non Americans so americanized lol. Geez -I mean North America is just a country, that's all.. when other cultures stop putting the USA on a pedestal we will all be better off.

Who knows when this photo was taken? Perhaps a flood victim or a homeless person. America loves her people and if this is the only way he can show is patriotism, then who are we to cast a shadow over his civil rights?
Freedom of speech, even when it is not spoken aloud. Lady Liberty says ... "Bring me your tired, your weary, your poor." America was founded on a dream and deep inside everyone wants to dream. -
@ Theresa111: America does not love its people or we would have no need to protect minorities from the mob mentality that runs rampant in this country. As a country we have one of the highest rates hatred for natural born citizens you will see anywhere in the world. There are a lot of countries where the citizens dislike new immigrants, but embrace the children they have in the country wholeheartedly as their own. Americans have a hard time accepting people whose ancestors came to this land six or seven generations ago. We don't love each other, we despise each each other.

Georgous! Hello. We get so riled up into these political conversations that with the daily reminders of the importance of this election, things have been too tense. Sorry.
We world citizens are one here at BlogCatalog. We just consider everyone here BC Family and forget you do not live here too. Thank you for the reminder.

As one of the Americans, I'd actually really enjoy hearing more from folks outside the US about things like traditions and foods, and things that are currently popular in various cultures.
There are a lot of really fascinating things out there that the internet now allows us the chance to share. So I'd be more than up for folks sharing a little bit of what they feel is the best they're seeing in their everyday lives right now. -
WHAT? We're letting non americans on the Internet now???? OK, this isn't going to end well at all. First, the Canadians are going to start saying things aboot stuff from their chesterfields and then those bloody Brits are going want to pip in with the odd cheerio ... let's not even start with what the French will do. Nobody tell the Chinese, they'll clog the tubes and frankly I'm worried the Indians might start developing a stable economy based on competitive based global outsourcing if they get ahold of this tech stuff. (tongue firmly planted in cheek - Chris from Canada)

I love other cultures : ) I makes me feel that the world isn't doomed. Isn't full of rednecks, and ignorant people. I used to work at the space center here in Florida as a security guard and got a chance to learn several different languages and converse with people from, France, Brazil, Italy, Greece, Japan, China, Russia and so on. I wouldn't trade that experience for anything!
I loved speaking to other intelligent people and learning new things everyday. Even if it was just how to say "have a good trip" in their native tongue.
The key is for people to keep an open mind and be willing to budge a bit. Make an effort to accommodate those who are different. I hate to say it but the majority of my fellow Americans do not have this curtsy and I can defiantly see why other nations call them, fat, lazy, and stupid.
lol and some people in other countries are just are stubborn as Americans though. French speaking people's of Canada I'm looking at you lol All I have to say is "bonjour! como talle vous?" (Hi! How are you?) and your faces light up and you start talking about how you day is and we really hit it off. But if I didn't ask you how you were in French I've have people laugh at me and make fun of me with their friends thinking I didn't speak French. But in that case I like to surprise them by saying "Avoir un bon voyage" (Have a good Trip).
I'm glad I'm joining the military soon though, I'm looking to see the world and meet new people with different out looks on life ^_^ -

Speaking as an American, I apologize in advance if I forget myself and assume someone is an American when they are not. It's an easy mistake to be too U.S.-focused, especially now that our presidential election is coming up.
Strangely, when I visit my finance in Canada, they seem to have as much American news as Canadian. Maybe it's just me.
As far as non-Americans commenting on U.S. politics, I like hearing things from an another perspective.
