    Staying "chaste" until marriage is often done for religious reasons and other historical reason such as ensuring the female doesn't come to the marriage bed pregnant and try to pass off someone elses child as her new husband. So if your religion believes in such a thing then you have to ask yourself why and if the religion is wrong or just pointless. Also people can now just get a DNA test if they really think the child isn't theirs.
