Discussions

We have had a ton of discussion about what to do with them.

It really comes down to presentation. If we post something like "visit my site and ill vist yours". No one benefits.

However, a few sentences describing your blog, why someone may find it interesting, or why you may want to digg it... goes a long, long way in turning a spammy post here into a valuable discussion.

This is a perfect example of a great way to Shameless Promote one's blog.

This is your community. Please if you see a new member who places any exchange request, or visit request, without any substance to it, explain that adding something to pique our interest will benefit him/her and all members who visit these discussions.

for the best of the community i think is better that members of the community explain to them how to post instead of clicking the report.

making this atmosphere, by reporting to admin, makes people really confuse and uncertain what and how to post.

But this is just my opinion

I think it needs both, since non content, vanilla requests will be removed and those requests with useful information will remain.

which is exactly like yours , now that i read again your post

Even if no one comments on the thread or even clicks through to my blog, being held up as a good example made my day (you've got to take pleasure in the small things when you're starting out with a new blog.)

    Cheers for that SiteProPlus!

But policing these things can get tiresome for the users.

Red dog...no one is saying anyone has to be a policeman.

What Im suggesting is that as a community, when we see someone asking for a link exchange or a straight dig, and you are in the mood to do so,
then explain to new users what is acceptable and not. Sure we can draft some guidelines, however guidelines alone wont keep this place a valuable resource for bloggers.

there is infact at the moment , kind of suspicious atmosphere. Lets hope that wil be gone as soon as possible.

I react only when i see clear SPAM o fake way to attract visitors. like:

    or

How is the last story fake?
    2. clioandme
I don't know about a suspicious atmosphere, but there's a limit to how much scolding (aka "teaching") I'm willing to do. And SiteProPlus is asking us to do more.
    3. clioandme
I'm with Jungl on the last story. I don't find the guy's blog interesting, but it is completely legitimate.

its call in my country elusive ads. SPAM.

You may like or not somenthing but lie about to get visitors is not legitimate. Again my personal opinion.
