Digg got rid of the share button today. Now there is no way to promote your content on Digg other than promoting the digg page leading to your content via twitter, facebook or email.

I don't know if I care. I won't be getting as many Diggs on my articles now that I can't share em properly - but this also works in my favor because it's going to cause hordes of Diggers to quit - I'll stay active and maybe get noticed more.

This was done because the shout feature is constantly abused by spammers, but users were always given the option of turning off shouts completely, or blocking certain members.

I'll admit I was getting sick of clicking on 200 usernames before I got to share my content, racing the clock in hopes to front page it before it goes stale or falls too far off the new submissions section.

Every other community has a way of sharing content within its own walls. What do you think of Diggs decision?

I lost all interest in Digg when I watched people game the system by spamming their selections onto the front page over and over again. So what they have done doesn't matter to me. SHRUG

It's about time I always felt a lot of Digg is automated crap. But as such I lost all interest in the site, like Timethief.

I noticed that SHOUT is disabled 6 hours ago. but i was thinking that that was kinda technical error... oh well, doesnt matter that much. but i liked the share option.

they are making digg more and more compact, Now I think its much tough to get most number of diggs through sharing Digg page on Twitter and other resources. Anyways it was nice topic for discussion.

True, I got an account there but I hardly went there. It is a place with spams only.
