I've been acquainted with a dog or two. Of course dogs have feelings. Why do they have feelings? I suppose because they're made that way. I'd never really thought about it.

As to "What do you think?" I think that entropy tends to increase.
    1. RioTheYorkiePoo
      Wow!!!
I had to go check what "entropy" means...
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entropy
      Well...here is what I found...
"This article or section contains too much jargon and may need simplification or further explanation."
      So...I guess you think RIGHT!
      Entropy DO tends to increase:-)
  2. wholeliving
Zoey said this is a rhetorical question...

    Do people?
    1. wholeliving
      (Zoey is my German Shepherd)
    2. liggybee
Zoey is so right...lol! I think dogs definitely DO have feelings. Just like many people, they just don't know how to express them sometimes.
  3. earthandeconomy
Yeah and they have something to tell you!

    1. CondoBlues
      Yes!!

I got a Bow lingual as a gift and used it on my rescue Peke who had a very crappy life before we rescued him. Every bark "said" and meant something different. Like "I'm afraid" or "I'm lonely." So, yes, it showed to me that the furball has feelings he just expresses them differently than humans do.
  4. TonyB
    Definitely flees
  5. brigid
Sure do. And rabbits have feelings, too. The default feeling for rabbits seems to be fear, though I'm working on that with my little guy.

And horses can be absent minded, as in the case of the horse that missed the barn door. The question is, what would a horse have to be absent minded about?

    Zoey knows BEST!
According to Plato, rhetoric is the “art of enchanting the soul.”
    Zoey has feelings and soul!:-)
Take good care of her! Cause I can see she is taking great care of you:-)

I think some DO. Some don't!

I thought it said 'do BLOGS have feelings'
    1. RioTheYorkiePoo
      Good discussion to create!:-)
I'll add that to my discussions
I would guess some of them do.
      hehehe
    2. globalgirl
Dogs and blogs have feelings, so get to my blog before you know what.
    3. acousticguitarist
can you tickle a blogs tummy?
    4. globalgirl
      How much? :-)

I am reminded one day when I saw a cute dog (I am a dog lover - gotta pet and talk to almost every one I see) and I oggled and cooed and spoke the baby talk people tend to do with cute dogs. Scratching this dog's belly, a guy walked by and said, "Excuse me, if I lay down and roll over, will you do that to me?" I laughed out loud and said "Yes!"

No, I actually giggled and said "good one". Gotcha!

the real dogs as in pets/animals do have feeling

but the other kind of dogs don't their just insensitive and self-centered
  10. DocNicole
    My pets are absolutely people.
  11. mikeny07
I love animals! I don't like them in the house with me though. I visit them out here each year at my game farm and feed them.
  12. jafabrit
I would like someone to try and explain to my dog rufus that hiding under the bed in a jealous huff are not real feelings! grrrrrrrrr! woof!
  13. looseink
Eddie the Dalmatian says you obviously have never seen the other puppies in the litter get their fill before it's your turn.

Dogs certainly have feelings. Unfortunately, some people have none.
    1. thereyoucome
      agree. SAD
    2. lordiwanttobewhole
I agree....sometimes dogs have more feelings than people...very sad.
  15. robinj
My dog newman is very offended he told me so!!!!
  16. Houseonahill
    Everything FEELS doesn't it??

I am for certain that my beautiful gal, SandyGirl has feelings. Afterall, she is an angel from heaven!

    houseonahillorg.blogspot.com/2007/08/okay-i-dont-typically-dwell-on-current...

(She's the cute pit in the White Sox bandana) LOL!
  17. thereyoucome
I think they have. Actually I think every living beings have the feelings.

They know who is friendly after some contacting and reflect friendly too, and they can be angry over the mistreat.
  18. kdawg68
I'm of the opinon that "feelings" as we know them are probably present in all mammals. I'm not sure about other reptiles, amphibians, etc. though.

If I had to explain why, I guess I'd hyopthesize that many mammals are social animals rather than loners, and "feelings" probably help contribute to a sense of bonding/attachment (or the opposite).
    1. Houseonahill
Yeh, I'd have to agree with ya K.

But on the reptile angle, I notice that even our little dragon geico, "Clash", can be finicky... LOL. Just thinking about how the pet store keeps telling me to buy these really disgusting mealy worm thingies and crickets, but he only likes the centipedes I catch and give him as treats! EEeeww!

After a few years I decided to save my money and just give him what he likes! He's is more social now. Hmmm, so maybe we could consider reptiles as well??

That was a cool story ThriftShopRomantic.

My pit was 8 months when the cops in my office found her. She was about to be used as bait for a fight but someone called 911. The guys called me into lockup and as I opened the door she literally jumped into my arms. Everyone laughed and said "Well, we know where she is going home to tonight!" That was 5 years ago. LOVE her, than again I love everything, which can be a bit tricky. I wear myself out!
  19. Anniepooh
Um...I asked Molly (my 10 yr old Chihuahua) and she started crying! I think she was offended...
  20. ThriftShopRomantic
I recall one summer when I was a child, a lost dog ended up in my backyard. And when it saw my mother, and my mother spoke sweetly to it, it just started crying almost hysterically on her crouched knee. It seemed as if all of the sorrows of its trauma and journey were wrapped into that sobbing. It was really shocking.

One could say it's anthropomophizing too much, but based on that poor dog's reaction that day, I surely don't believe so.
    1. kdawg68
I think you just added a new word to my vocabulary.

Seriously though -that's a very touching story.
    2. ThriftShopRomantic
It's still vivid in my mind.
    3. CondoBlues
Your tory made me get up from the computer and give my dog a bunch of pets.

Apparently he thinks I'm neglecting him because I'm spending time on the computer and not paying attention to him at the moment.
  21. buyersweb
Yes they have feelings...they are still an animal just like us lol...
  22. dogman2
My two dogs have a lot of feelings. I have been doing road trips for the last three weeks and when I go to leave I can tell that they are upset and when I come home they mug me and won't let me go...Yes... a mans best friend...They told me so...
  23. LGramlich
I think they certainly do. It sure explains the horrible separation anxiety my former husky suffered from. If I ever left his sight, he'd lose his MIND, even if he was on tranquilizers. Poor guy. The pure joy he expressed whenever I asked if he wanted to go for a walk was a clear indicator, too.
  24. irync
Oh yes, definitely! My dog is quite expressive in showing her feelings!
  25. brigid
And my rabbit gets very annoyed if I don't feed him when he thinks he should be fed. And of course there's the classic rabbit binky, the ultimate expression of spastic joy.
  26. kaguvkov
definitely yes! try to hurt your dog and you will know that.
  27. SoapWithBalls
Anyone who's ever cared about their dog knows the dog also loved them.
  28. clioandme
Yes, we do. Why? I'm a dog and I know it, dammit. Isn't that good enough?

/me barks three times loudly for good measure
    1. Theresa111
Woof ... Woof ... Woof Dogs have as many feelings as the rest of us.
    2. RioTheYorkiePoo
      That's great!
      Keep up the good work!
  29. nardeeisms
    Yes - Nards
  30. luxuryrides
Of course they do. Or else, they wouldn't cry if they're hurt.
  31. voodooKobra
Do dogs have a central nervous system? Do dogs have loyalty?

There's enough empirical evidence in the answers to those two questions to conclude that the answer is, "Yes."
  32. fczamora
    do they...
  33. Onchong
    OF COURSEEEEEEEEE!!!
  34. DaisySoapGirl
My friend's dog would bark at me and they would have to lock him in the bedroom when I visited. When he was later diagnosed with a deadly disease he no longer barked at me but would look into my eyes and whimper until I rubbed him. I think that was he way of saying he was sorry and asking me to forgive him. It touched my heart.
  35. MarkPogue
Yes!! My dog actually expresses gratitude after being fed, without coaxing.
She also manipulates by showing affection in order to get what she wants.
  36. Bayho
ohh shiit i didnt know they had that for dogs! haha i think imma get that for my friend for christmas.. shes in love with her dog.. i dont have a dog but i lover her dogs haha.. she has too but yeah.. anyways of course they have feelings! i see when they hurt.. and when there sad. happy and excited. scared.. pshh i love them
  37. robinj
I know my dog does pay back when he feels he has been left out of something and he whines when he is left alone and gets poop anxiety when no one comes outside with him when he poops okay so that was too much information
  38. SyedImranShah
