It’s the hottest rage to go with environmentally friendly products to clean your home.

But unfortunately when money is involved you don’t always get what you pay for, and sometimes there are cheaper healthier alternatives.

Environmentally friendly household cleaners can be just as toxic as regular ones.

So do you know of any homemade cleaners that are good for the enviorment and your health?

If not i wrote a post with the ones i know about.

I have started using vinegar and water to wipe down counters instead of bleach and water.

Vinegar is great for killing most molds, germs, and bacteria.

yeah, at first the smell kinda bugged me, but i got used to it. i also started puttin about 1/2 a cup of vinegar in the dishwasher instead of that stuff that prevents water spots. works great, even better than the chemical stuff.

If you find Greenseal or other certified products, they have to meet a certain standard of harmlessness.

    trust me, I'm a professional

Lemons are great cleaners. I use half-lemons and salt as a scrub on my cutting boards, which is much better than wiping them with bacteria-laden sponges. Lemon juice also wipes away grease on the stove-top better than plain water. When I'm done, I microwave the spent halves for about 30 seconds... get the food odors out of the microwave
