I dont think its brave, some may call me a wuss, but if something touches you in a certain way then let it out.

The sociological construct of which I am apart defines males who cry as weak. Crying is not associated with masculinity. Little boys may cry, women may cry, but the construct's definition of a man does not allow for crying.

So a man shouldnt cry at loss of a loved one.

not a lot of men cries in public. and whenever I see one say in my group of friends, I admire them. they earn greater respect from me because they defy stereotypes.

why are men not allowed to cry? if your wife dies or your mom/dad/brother/sister dies you are not weak for crying your just crying because youve lost someone you care about - how is that weak? Personally I think your more of a man if you can do it and not so up yourself at being a man.

All I can say is that no man should ever stifle a tear and that includes out of sorrow or joy. In my opinion, real emotion is something that should never be manipulated.

i agree deathsweep. it's one of the few things in the world which is free. let it go, let it out....

I have cried several times and used to use peeling an onion as the excuse. Takes my face about 4 hours to recover to avoid me looking like I've fallen asleep in a corby trouser press.

Men dry - too right - if us blokes dont start opening up and raising our EQ we're in trouble.
    Group hug?

I was told strength is our greatest weakness I think that applies to crying being strong isn't about not crying but allowing yourself to cry

Why wouldn't men cry ? We should just let our emotions out .

I agree. No one should ever be apprehensive or embarrassed to express themselves, ...ever.

The greatest man who ever lived gives us an example of what men should do when faced with something that stirs their emotions. John 11: 35 "Jesus wept."

One of my exes made a bloody show of his public cries, but he had some issues.

I can't say that I know anyone else who would have had a habit of crying in public, I don't even know women who do, but I think when the situation calls for it, there's a lot of people who would cry in public... Oh, I was to a couple of weddings not long ago where the GROOMS were crying but the brides were not. (Oh and they WERE happy tears!)

Not in public, but I cry at movies and music that are personal to me.

Of Course men cry. One of the darkest days of my life was when my mother moved on, I cried for days. It's been 1 year passed and I still cry on holidays and when memories come into my mind. Ive cried so much after the loss I don't think my eyeballs can produce any more water for a tear. So to answer the question Do Men Cry, Id have to say yes!
