Women have always been told that our hair is our crown and glory. Even in the media it is highly suggested that women with longer hair are deemed "more desirable" (the longer, the better). But on the other hand you see short-haired cuties like Charlize Theron, Halle Berry (back in the day), and now Rihanna who are just as beautiful with short hair. So what do you think? Do men really think long hair or short hair is sexier or more desirable on a women?

I wore my hair long and I do mean uncut for many years. When I had an accident and could no longer bear the weight on my damaged neck I cut my hair. I was filled with trepidation because I was known for my hair and because my partner loved it. I secretly loved my new short hair and it took a week before I saw anyone other than my husband who said he loved it (he could have just been making sure he got laid), but lo and behold everyone remarked that short hair suited me.

      @ timethief:

It almost feels like you're walking outside naked when you first cut your hair, doesn't it? It's somewhat awkward. I'm glad that you're loving your new short cut. Sometimes a short cut can accentuate your best facial features that are often hidden by long hair.

Interesting parallel: My hair is baby fine, straight as a stick and difficult to manage. I grew it long so I could put it in a low ponytail or a braid and keep it out of my face. And I mean LONG...nearly to my waist.

Three years ago I was the victim on a home invasion robbery. During the course of the robbery, one of the perps attempted to scare me, with one of my big kitchen knives, into giving him the combination to the safe (I didn't know it). He grabbed a big handful of hair on the right side of my head and sawed it off with the knife.

I went to the hairdresser the next day and she cut my hair all the way around to even it up and styled it into a short bob. Much to my surprise, not only did I like it, but my husband and friends!

I've let it get a little longer (to chin length) but still wear it in that bob and it turns out to be easier to manage than the old length!

I prefer short to medium length, but most of all I don't like when every hair is in place or the "helmet head" look. I love the messed up look!
    1. timethief
      @markpogue
Hey you just described my haircut. It's the short and messy type look and I love it. No fuss and no muss. I'm not into primping.

      @ timethief

      That's right up my alley!

I think it all depends on how the woman carries herself.
    1. lovelyladyluxe
      @ PrincessQuello:

You're right... it has alot to do with your "swagger" too! Like Rihanna. I've seen that cut on other women but it's HOT because of the way she rocks it!
  7. hadrian1407
Short or long hair is the same for me as long as the women I loved still loved me.

      @ hadrian1407

Awwww, that's so sweet. Your mama raised you right!

I am a long hair person. I tried a bob in college and it was cute but I missed my hair. My long curly hair is part of my sexy.

Men like what they like. Some like short, some like long, brunettes you name it. I say cut your hair the way YOU want to.
  9. lovelyladyluxe
    @ curlydesigh:
I completely agree. You just gotta do you. Ok, so here's another question to the ladies. Would you ever NOT cut your hair b/c... say... a boyfriend or "significant other" didn't want you to?
    1. freeatlast
I don't think I'd put myself in a relationship that required me to remain static with regards to hair length. That said, I have a lot of long hair. A SO's request to not cut my hair would go unheeded. If someday I feel adventourous again and want a shorter style, no one could stop me... nor would I want to be with someone who cared that much about my hair length. I actually am not entirely impressed with how attached I am to one of my biggest trademarks... my abundant hair. I don't know if I'd want someone else to be more attached to it than me.

    Long hair is sexy.
    1. HelloAnnie
my hubby seems to think long hair is sexy. I have long dark hair, and he won't let me cut it.
  11. amitchopra22
long hairs are nice and attracts me , any ugliest women will look gorgeous from back of her.
    hahaa long hairs are sexy
  12. Nomadic
I'm getting married next year and growing my hair for the wedding....is that a mistake? I'm confused now.
    1. HelloAnnie
now that you have made public, will we get an invitation to the wedding.

how about bridal shower? who is the lucky man.

It is your hair, do what you like with it. In a marriage, they (men) expect us to wear it long or short for them to see but we still have to manage it ourselves.

If he has always noticed your hair, he may just like it the way you are now. I had long hair when I met my husband. Till now, he prefer me not to cut it.
    2. Nomadic
Maybe I could have a virtual wedding!

And as for who it is? I shall have to remain mysterious for now.
    3. ranist22
YOu could put it up or leave it loose. Seems more romantic, just the idea of growing it for your wedding seems so charming. Go with it!
  13. amitchopra22
nomadic , it wud not be a mistake according to me. but better if you wud ask your hubby and if he is ready thenwhat is the harm in that
  14. farangrakthai
Long hairs are subconsciously associated with good health and hence are indeed sexy, in the sense that the girl having long hairs is in good health and can have children.
Maybe it is not true these days but well, men did not evolve much in the past few thousand years...
  15. irtiza104
long hair is sexier to me...
  16. farangrakthai
I also do not want my 2 daughters to cut their hairs (22 and 16) and well, so far it works...
  17. mrwolf
Up to a few years ago I would have said that long hair is way sexier. For our wedding my wife had beautiful waist-lenght hair and she was stunning. Then she chopped it all off (against my wishes). Then it hit me, it was not the hair. My wife is sexy. Lucky for me the feeling is mutual.
  18. Kryptonitemare
I love them both. Theres just something I like about Short Hair. It's very sexy but so is long hair. As PQ said, It really does depend on how the woman carries herself. If you have long hair that smells like smoke and my hand gets tangled in your hair, Not a turn on. If your short haircut makes you look like you have a thicker mustache than me, That also might be a turnoff.
