There has to be some truth in it otherwise it wouldn't be talked so talked about. Of course there are charlatans as well.
  2. Drew
Yes, I believe miracles do happen.
  3. Shiley
Miracles do happen. I don't go for religious theories or what ever. This lady was dead www.wchstv.com/newsroom/eyewitness/0805/080521_41d512f9.shtml It's not a tabloid story my husband worked with the dead lady's sister. I was going to blog it before it hit the press but out of respect for the family I didn't.
    1. Theresa111
      What an utterly incredible story!
    2. agapelife
Yes Shiley, in my long years in nursing, I have seen this scenario a couple of times before.
  4. crazyTsu
You might have heard of the Clarke law: any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic
There are too many things in this universe that we don't understand. And when we encounter them, it's "magic" or "miracle" depending on context
A few years back who would have thought it's possible to transmit electricity remotely (and wirelessly)? To me thats the beginning of an entirely new realm and a place where science could find scope to merge with spiritualism
  5. AquilusDomini
miracles, magic...happy, unexplained accidents. it is all science, just some of it is not yet discovered science.
  6. amrhima
If miracles do happen, then why call them miracles? they are miracles because they can't happen...we just wish they do happen thats why some of us believe in them.
  7. nothingprofound
Yes. "My miracle is when I'm hungry I eat, and when I'm thirsty I drink."
    1. b0ll0cks
lmao, if the downward spiral of this economy keeps up that will be all our miracles.
    2. nothingprofound
Those are all the miracles one needs.
  8. p12h79
yes, miracle is happen just sometimes we not realize it.
  9. aspotofblog
It's a miracle that I'm answering this question.
    1. dbowles1017
      So is that a yes?
  10. b0ll0cks
I have a blog on magick and pagan beliefs so I obviously believe in magick, miracles, divine intervention and all that other stuff that goes along with those beliefs. I really don't have any one faith that I follow, I sort of designed my own religion that feels right to me. Part Pagan, Part Old Testament, Part New Testament, Part New Age Metaphysical Techno Shaman type thing "The First Church Of b0ll0cks". In matters of the spirit I find it best to listen to your heart.
    1. sirJohn180
What do you believe is the origin of the magic you believe in?
  11. dbowles1017
I haven't won the lottery yet... granted I have never actually bought a lottery ticket... but still
    1. aspotofblog
Yes, it is a yes. So a yes must mean no, not?
  12. Theresa111
Yes they happen all day long. Look around you.

A miracle by definition is basically an unexplained event that creates awe. Pulling God into the picture, witch is the first thing that comes into my mind when I hear that word, digging deeper I have my own point of view. I believe in God creating miracles. I also strongly believe that everything that He does is done within the scientific parameters that He has created.

Looking at the past, it is obvious that stuff happened that was unexplainable then but can be now so I see the same happening now. I do believe God can push things into motion to create those miracles. Wouldn't that be the best miracle for a religious person to know all this stuff happens within pre made scientific parameters. And I've seen my share fair of miracles.
    1. sirJohn180
I am saying that life is originated from a Creator, and not from some blind "force" or unguided process that somehow produces increasingly more complex "accidents." As you have quoted from the scriptures, I assume you believe in the God of the bible (as I do). Yes? They why would you rule out the possibility of a 6-day creation? If the Creator used the evolutionary process to create humanity and all of life, then where is the evidence of this? No one has ever discovered the fossil remains of creatures in transition from one species to another.
  14. lnclark1950
Miracles do happen but they are not the norm. People do not perform the miracles but it does take humans to be involved for miracles to take place. God does the miracle usually through someone who is willing risk looking stupid. I once prayed for a friend who had a growth on and in his heart. The next morning just before the doctor was to operate he requested another scan and when he got the results there was no trace of the growth. Did I perform a miracle, no not at all, but God did.
    1. pandora106
I think God does miracles through people and they don't even know it. I think it can be something like choosing to go left and not right without a secure reason why, just instinct or......

I understand and agree with you. I'm troubled when you say miracles aren't the norm though. What are you looking for? In my eyes a birth as an ex is/can be a miracle.
    2. sherri724
      Inclark1950,

I think that your faith, you willingness to go out on a limb and believe...or as you put it, your being willing to look stupid (great line!) was the vessel to allow the miracle, or at least that's the way I see it. My blog is about seeing and allowing miracles - expecting them, as in the laws of attraction - so obviously I believe in miracles. I think more and more people are believing that we can be vessels of good things through our positive thoughts.
  15. doruman
I don`t think, I know as miracles exists - without necessarily having a mystical or religious inclination. I passed too often on the brink of death to can know as the reality in fact goes beyond what we believe.
  16. Sylvia
Miracles happen every second of every day.....we're here aren't we

Some people are born handicapped. It's a miracle many are not.

A friend and I were driving home on I-90. We were riding in an Acura Integra, an uber low-to-the-ground car not capable of flipping at any speed it can manage (a theory we were fond of testing.) It was raining out, just beginning to rain, and we were going 75 MPH, and made a rough lane change, skidding off the road directly towards a cliff. There was a cliff 100 feet off the roadway, but instead of continuing down our scientifically predictable trajectory to our doom, the car not only starts flipping, after already flying well past the shoulder incline, but perfectly straight, parallel to the roadway, and lands on all fours, all of us perfectly fine, as the windshield cascades down like so much rain. We get checked out by doctors, and didn't even have a concussion.
    1. crazyTsu
To me, that's just a demonstration of the power of human mind to control his/her destiny. I know I will draw a lot of flak for this, but I know what I am talking about, and it can't be explained in a reply here
  20. sirJohn180
Adityavardhan, I think that maybe you're looking for the answer to a deeper question: "Does my life have purpose?" Since I believe that the theory of evolution is a foolish hoax, I believe in a Creator. Since there is a Creator, then human nature has a design, and yes, a purpose. Miracles? Life is a miracle! And yes, there are also miracles that are SUPERnatural.

    sirjohn180@gmail.com
    1. pandora106
What does the theory of evolution and God or the 'Creater' have to do with each other? Believing in evolution doesn't mean you have to believe we came from monkeys. Each generation evolves and adapts to our environment changing us more each generations. An ex of this is by our colour of our skin and certain characteristics we have.

I believe that there is a very real possibility that the theory of the 'big bang' could be true. In the bible it says that God made the world in 7 days and also states that a day is like a thousand yrs and a thousand yrs is like a day (Peter 3:8) so within this 7 day period, biblically speaking there was enough amount of time for this theory to happen.

      What do you think?
    2. Adityavardhan
sir john, I am sorry , i was not well from past two days, I didn't even visited since posting this thread.. and never even thought that this thread will attract such an intelligent response..

      Yes , you are right....
    3. sherri724
      www.seeingmiracleseveryday.blogspot.com
I agree with Pandora106 about evolution and Big Bang not necessarily being contraditory from the Bible and the creation story. To me, they actually mix very well. It is simply a matter of letting go of the need to be right or the need to prove someone else wrong, and instead opening our eyes to realize that they could both be saying the same thing in a different context or perspective.

There are many things in science now that are actually proving spiritual or religious ideas, so by letting go of the battle and working together, we can learn a lot to advance our own spirituality or experience with God and the Universe. Gregg Braden has done some phenomenal work as a scientist to prove ideas of how faith and prayer work in a scientific/energetic way. Bruce Lipton (Biology of Belief) has done amazing studies in the medical field as well.
    4. pandora106
I like what Sherii724 has to say. I know from my background that it's hard for 2 different groups of thinking to be able to come together, swing a pendulum in the middle, look at the other's point of view and learn from each other. No one is really 100% right and I think it's healthy to question or challenge what you believe.
  21. rainforestrobin
Being ALIVE is a miracle. We only need to open our eyes and see it. If you were suddenly blind and couldn't even see again and someone gave you back your eye sight you'd think that seeing blue sky and green trees and your loved ones faces was a very powerful miracle. So while you have your eyes right now see the miracles around you every single day. The rest doesn't matter.
    1. MidwestMom
I love the way you look at the world, Robin.
    2. rainforestrobin
@MidwestMom -- I LOVE the way YOU see the world. What a treasure you are. I have to make sure I've added your blog to my RSS. It's SO good to connect with positive and compassionate people.

    1. rainforestrobin
Lovely reply! And so profound, for without that air we would die.
  23. celticmusicfan
Yes! Miracles do happen everyday...little by little or big ones. Don't stop believing

    life is a miracle.
  25. iratedog
It depends what you mean by miracle. If you mean walking on water - probably not, if you mean a child going to school instead of taking drugs, yes. (And yes that is from Bruce Almighty. Who knew it could be so enlightening? :P)
    1. jeremyjanson
There are a lot of people who would disagree with you about walking on water. Good people, honorable people, people so honorable they died, profitless, powerless, in supreme pain and suffering, after living years in poverty and deprivation, for a better world. And they tell of someone even more honorable then them.
    2. pandora106
Walking on water may be an ex of how God uses the scientific boundaries of this world to create miracles as I explained in an earlier post. I have. You may not consider this walking on water but walking on a frozen lake is just that. It does depend on what you think is a miracle though.
    1. rainforestrobin
      I like that: simply....YES!
  26. aliaero
i,v got a believe in the core of my heart that if you believe in the oneness of god this is a miracle see for your self see the starts around you see the galaxies see your self you are a miricle if there would have been more than one gods the perfect harmoney in the nature can never been into existence.
  27. nothingprofound
Every moment of life is a miracle. The fact that I'm typing this comment right now is a miracle.
    1. rainforestrobin
@NothingProfound -- YES!! You are so so right. The fact I have all my fingers to do the typing, the fact that we are all even here, the fact that we can share through this almost intangible cyberspace is more miracle than I can comprehend. You are wise, someone who appreciates the miracle that you are. Wonderful!
    2. anthony9910
OMG ok, you're right, just the fact we're here as we are it's a damm miracle! we are miracles!
    3. jeremyjanson
Absolutely, but some moments are truly definitive.
    4. sherri724
      seeingmiracleseveryday.blogspot.com
It is my experience that once we begin to see and appreciate miracles (such as the miracle of the ability to sit in my own living room and have this cyber discussion with people all over the world), we will begin to see more and more miracles. In that energy of gratitude and acknowledgment, our eyes and our hearts get opened to see and recieve more. When we get to the place where we see even "bad" things as miracles - because of what they brought out in us or what they led us to - then we are truly on the road to ushering in more miracles in ourselves and in those around us.
  28. idealpinkrose
I don't know if my dream has a connection with the end of the world that they say in 2012 which I posted on my personal blog.

I believe in miracle and I know lots of people survive because of miracles.

About 15 years ago, three valves in my heart were failing. Tests by two hospitals (Harry Truman Veterans Hospital & University of Missouri Hospital) and two separate family physicians in two different states confirmed the original diagnosis: surgery or imminent death.

Before surgery, I decided to visit my family in California. The night before I left, I attended a healing service at church.

In California, I went to Jerry Pettis Veterans Hospital & Loma Linda University Hospital, with the results of my Missouri tests. Aghast, both hospitals ran further tests but found no trace of heart dysfunction. They drove themselves and the Missouri doctors absolutely crazy checking each others work, but all finally agreed my heart had been healed without surgery.

Miracles? You bet I believe in them.
    1. urikalish
How did they diagnose failing heart valves?
    2. Hayseed
Uri, there were many tests including lengthy stress tests, echocardiograms, electrocardiograms and cath. Oh, and the heart attack.

the biggest miracle of this world is ISLAM.....its the way of life.
    1. anthony9910
Islam? probably the most stupid one's, but ok I respect the culture, but don't respect the terrorists...

We would be better without islam, rome, or any B.S. religions!
    2. Adityavardhan
@ Aliaero ............"yes you are right, but same goes for every religion in this world.all religion leads humans to a good way of life,
as for world mother in each language there is different word, but the feelings and sanctity of the word remain same."
    3. anthony9910
Sometimes religions make us doing things we don't want to, now, and like the last 1500 years wwe fight muslim! for what? Honestly, if they didn't had a religion and we didn't have religion, we probably would be great friends of them, instead we kill them, and they kill us.
  32. urikalish
All of you believing in miracles, can you please explain to me how come every 3 seconds a child dies in Africa from AIDS and extreme poverty, often before their 5th birthday?
    1. sirJohn180
I don't know what miracles have to do with tragedy. Please explain. A miracle, by definition, is an event that occurs beyond the limits of natural cause and effect. Miracles transcend the limits of the natural forces that govern our universe.
    2. sherri724
Sometimes our human societies (political or otherwise) have set up or created difficult situations, but what we have to rememeber is that difficult situations have miralces within them too. Think of Mother Theresa, who saw beauty and love on a different scale in Calcutta. She created miracles of love, and I am sure she experienced them as well. A miracle can be the softening of a hardened heart. Difficulties are a stage for miracles, but we don't necessarily need difficulty to have miracles - we just, individually or collectively, choose difficulty or it becomes such a norm for us that we never know that we can choose anything else.
  33. rcrane52
is a sudden, unexplainable tragedy just a miracle of the worst kind?
and aren't they both just improbable outcomes, albeit one good and one bad?

having said that, i revel in a great, unbelievable story as much as the next person, and simply marvel at "what were the chances".

Without a doubt miracles do happen. I have for years been fighting to bring two people to justice for the murder of my brother, now 37 years ago. Something told me to starting looking again for someone to help get the case reopened in August of 2008. I by chance found a reporter who had just started a cold case blog for his newspaper, the Jacksonville News. He agreed to write a story about the case, I then sent him all the information I had accumulated over the years and he took it all the the Sheriff. He told the Sheriff he was going to do a second story using the suspects names, the Sheriff told him to hold off, as he would look at the case again. The reporter then wrote a second article without the names. A woman in Jacksonville who raises puppies, put that newspaper down and the story was looking up at her, she then took that story and showed it to her daughter, who in turn went to the Sheriff and told her story as a witness. It was three weeks after I contacted the reporter and one week shy of the 36th anniversary of my brothers death, that two suspects were arrested and put in jail. A third suspected was arrested in January of this year and now we await three trials.
    So yes, Miracles Still Happen!!
    1. Adityavardhan
these two suspects ..now convict... survived and lived so long to face the day .. ..yes its miracle... but this cud be their destiny also...
  35. sherri724
I have been interested in this thread and have enjoyed reading many of the ideas about miracles. It seems that most are open to miracles, which to me is a very good thing. I practice Reiki and other healing work, and I get to see amazing things happen when someone begins to allow miracles, and to believe that they deserve them. I realized that I had a blog post that told about a "miracle" that I had witnessed in someone recently, the healing of her COPD (lung disease), which she had suffered from for a long time. Here is the direct link to that post:

I do believe in the 6 day creation. I know you have gone into a little bit of another subject and I will try and explain my thoughts on it. in Peter 3:8 it says 'But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.'

As far as evolution goes and fossils, a minor ex of this is. When African Americans became slaves only the strong survived. This changed the evolution of African Americans just as all the human race has changed through time as they moved from land to land changing there skin with the climate and breading with each other. There is a cool document on this. We all came from one area in this world. Also the animals adapt to their own environment. We only know those minor changes but I look at the larger picture, what's beyond what we know.

I don't believe in accidents. I do believe in free will. I also believe that God uses the tools of this world in His miracles such as science and His voice.

I hope I cleared up my statement. What's your opinion on what I said?
    1. crawler
you've really opened up the pandora's box kiddin'

it is a good insight into religion, God, Evolution, Migration, Climate, Animal life.........so on.
    2. pandora106
This was in response to sirJhon180 in a earlier response. Thanks for the 'pandora's box'.... aim to please:)
  37. FredSr2009
    I think so.
  38. sirJohn180
Wow, this is a pretty good topic. Pandora, your statements were well thought through.

The conversation first started out with a question about miracles. I guess I kind of threw in the "evolution" ingredient into the mix, but I did so for a reason. The short answer to the question about miracles, is "yes, I believe." And at the same time I look around at living things within the natural realm, and I see the undeniable hand of a Creator. Therefore I have no problem accepting the reality of things that happen beyond the limits of our natural laws. And at the same time, it amazes me that so many people can believe that, miracles aside, our natural realm could have come into existence from nothing, and then got increasingly more and more complex.
    1. pandora106
I think we believe the same thing. The only difference is that what you say, 'no problem accepting the reality of things that happen beyond the limits of our natural laws', I think it may.... may be proved in the future to be natural law as our past unnatural law become natural. I know it's just wording to most but for me it's much more, it's an awesome realisation I've had that I see as a miracle.

Miracles are inside of you. They are where you wish to see them.
Every breath you take is a miracle. All one can do is to help you focus on them.
  42. Dumasr
Yip you just really need to believe that they do happen. Then you need to see the small miracles in your life, the moment this happens the bigger once will come rolling in….
  43. TheCrazyhorse
I don't believe in 2012 end of the world. Mayans maybe one of the early scientists that predict about the end of the world but if you are looking at the scientific observation about the vanishing of our beloved planet there should be signs of destabilization of the earth's cores ahead before 2012.
Let us see after December 21, 2012 if this thread will still be available to post a comment.
  44. sorcerer
    yes they do.

    miracles happen
    1. Adityavardhan
      @sorcerer, can you pl explain...
  45. AJH65
As Human beings we come to expect miracles as things that rarely happen yet There are two ways to look at this:-
you can live as if nothing is a miracle, or you can live as if everything is a miracle! if the most simple things in life were taken away from us and we were given another chance to have them back then maybe we would see that some of the most simplest things that happen in our lives everyday could be classed as miracles!
  46. BlogDogW2
    Yep everyday miracles happen!
