    Oh god.

    Nobody owns me.

Oops. Satan called and apparently he has already laid claim to me.

    @DO THE BILLIONAIRES OWN US??

They're trying to!. They own most of the money.

    *Buys Microsoft stock*
Now I own a part of a billionaire!
  5. nothingprofound
    No; their money owns them.

Your link obviously doesn't go to the Forbes article you mention.

The question "Do the billionaires own us?" is just absurd. It's a nonsense question.

Yes they do. All huge conglomerates own us. We, the consumers are but little ant slaves who, by just going about our daily, normal lives, make them rich. Drug companies, phone companies, food, fashion, the list goes on.

We have choices about what we do in our lives...
    1. aspotofblog
Yes, we do have choices. Go and live off the land. Live sustainably.

money is power!! but no one owns me. Without us, they have no money and we have a choice in who we want to give our money anyway
  10. Agit8r
Google Ad rules allow no discussion of their supremacy
  11. bh9office
I dont think they do even though they control alot of things
  12. newblogmogul
No they don't own us but they do own many of the things that we purchase daily. What it does mean is, they need us to continue to be Billionaires.
  13. Agit8r
I guess it depends on one's definition of "ownership"
    1. aspotofblog
True. They don't exactly 'own' us, but we are in their control to some extent. But only if we don't wake up from our sheep mentality and don't make our own INFORMED choices.
    2. Agit8r
it might also depend of the definition of "us"
    3. aspotofblog
You and I, agi. You owe me.
  14. nothingprofound
They're like my computer or my washing machine. They're only there for my convenience.
    1. aspotofblog
      I guess it's a symbiotic relationship then.
    2. nothingprofound
Right. They do all the work, and I get all the pleasure.
    3. aspotofblog
Their money is their pleasure, no matter how twisted it may seem. Both parties win.
    4. nothingprofound
That's an arrangement I'm glad to agree with.

This is retarded. Of COURSE every product we use can be linked to a fortune 500 company --- WHERE do you think they get all their money from? Because WE BUY and USE THEIR PRODUCTS! Duh!
  16. R1VERT1LT
Depends... how much do you cost?
  17. supergreensunbear
Control is an illusion, after all, even a billionaire is still stuck hurtling through space on a wobbly trajectory faster than they can imagine on a path to who knows where, like the rest of us. Saying that, they don't half have some influence but they must lead a sad life if they can't even affect the world positively with the power and influence they have. Sucks to be them!
  18. Rivy
Own me? Not yet. I am waiting for the highest bid. Fingers crossed.
  19. trailofpen
Yes, they control your every movement. From the time you are born, you've been monitored and controlled by a tiny microchip inserted into your brain via nasal injection, Egyptian style. You are nothing but a puppet, a mere tool for the BILLIONAIRES! So now it's time for you to choose: reality or the comfortable lie you've been living. In my hand I have 2 pills, one red, and one blue...
  20. crazyTsu
in some ways yes.. but they cant take from me what I am
  21. jeremyjanson
Not really. This entire monetary world could come crashing down any second. You can't buy the most important aspects to power, namely loyalty and vision.
