I get a lot of shout outs asking telling me that they kissed my adds and I should do the same.

When I follow a blogger or choose them as my favorite, I do the following:

1. READ THEIR CONTENT
2. COMMENT
3. LOOK AT GOOGLE ADS OR OTHER FEATURES THAT
INTEREST ME

How do you respond to ki$$ the ads shout outs?
What is your process in looking at a post?
Do you support the people you follow?

I would hazard a guess that 99.9% of those posts are completely lies and the poster in question has never even been to your blog. That's in addition to the fact that it's against the TOS to ask anyone to click your ads. You should mark those shoutbox posts as spam because that's exactly what they are.

Agreed with leg here. Asking for clicks is a guaranteed account suspension from Google Adsense, or any another advertising network.

You should report to Google sites that are encouraging, forcing or asking people to click the ads.

If someone sends you a shout that asks you to ki$$ their ads, please report it as spam and send me a shout so that the user can be removed from BlogCatalog.

Wow, spamming the thread about clickfraud, admitting to clickfraud, AND sharing your email with the entire world.

Not perhaps the best three moves of the day.

      Unbelievable!

I guess I am just a little annoyed. I thought shout outs were a way of connecting with other people by saying hello and I like your post. It seems like it has turned into an advertisement. Its kinda like...I did this for you, so do the same for me.
    1. timethief
Yes there are people who are using shoutouts to spam others. I don't have advertising on my blogs & I get PMs form members who claim they clicked my ads. Keep clicking the "spam" link so the shout goes to Admin like TonyB said.

How do you respond to ki$$ the ads shout outs?

    (1) I switch browsers and proceed to the site identified using an IE7 browser (normally I use Firefox with AdBlock Plus so I don't even see ads or experience pop-ups). I locate the Google icon and click it, and then I report the click fraud request to Google Adsense, including a copy and paste of the shout that was sent to me inviting me to take part in click fraud .

    (2) I return to the shoutbox message and click the "spam" link so BC Admin receive the shout and know which BC members are doing this.

What is your process in looking at a post?
I'm not sure what you mean by "looking at". I read posts that interest me and I comment if I feel I have something to say.

Do you support the people you follow?
I don't know what you mean by this.
Do I subscribe to their feeds, read their posts and comment if I have something to say? Yes.
Do I click on ads on their blogs? No - not ever. If I'm interested in purchasing a product or a service online I have no difficulty locating the supplier and dealing directly with them.

Like 46.5% of others surfing the net I use a Firefox browser with AdBlock Plus & a pop-up blocker, so I don't even have to see the ads on blogs or experience pop-ups.

whew, that was informative! I have been receiving shouts like that but I don't have an idea before what's this "ki$$ ads" is all about, so I generally ignore them... bad luck for those who shouted that, I guess... LOL

      thanks for the info guys!

It's okay to look. But, referrals from your favorites will only confirm that you are clicking ads for the sake of clicking ads and thus performing click fraud. I hope I am not in your favorites that makes you think this way about my blogs, and only remind you not to click ads for the sake of clicking ads - it's click fraud and you cause legitimate advertisers to pay extra monies for nothing.

It's obnoxious, most of these people simply copy and paste the same thing onto hundreds of member's pages - it's likely they didn't even visit our blogs at all.

Another annoying thing - my latest "review" is from someone pimping out their own blog. I looked at their other reviews and they have 16 pages of copied & pasted, identical reviews - that's 300 other blogs they have spammed with their spammy "review".

Tony, should I also send you a personal shout about this member?
    1. timethief
I also had a "guest" (no sh*t - not even a BC member) click the review button for one of my blogs and enter an advertisement for her own blog into the box and then enter a rating for my blog. She did NOT even visit my blog. I visited what she passes off as her blog. Then I clicked the "Report This Comment" button. I completed the form by explaining why I was reporting it and asking for the "spam" to be deleted, and then clicked the link sending it to Admin.

Admin did delete the bogus review that amounted to spam. But I'm concerned about these guests and exactly what functions they have access to.
    2. intarso
Guests are also able to partake in group discussions, and often use them to spam.

me-thinks guests should have no posting privileges until they are approved. Some of these guests don't even have blogs!!
    3. timethief
Perhaps, in the case of guests, who lack blogs, the word is simply an euphemistic label for internet marketer.

      oh, that's awful!

I want to point out what PetLvr said about an hour ago. I've been saying this since ki$$ing first came up

ITS VERY EASY FOR GOOGLE TO TRACK THESE FRAUDULENT CLICKS, I've had some recent clicks that totalled 0.00 that means google thinks they are fraud, they are prolly from these ki$$ers, stay the hell away from my blog

Yea I had people leave messages that they ki$$ed my ads. Took me about a second to figure that out. Don't abuse it.
    1. deoangel
It took me a minute to figure it out too...lol

I like this forum for the insight. I do not comment on what circumstances are discussed in

When I follow someones blog it is because I like their page. When the ads on their page interest me I will click on them. I don't mind following ads of products that might be something I need, or would like to learn more about.
I use google ads on my page, but really don't have people click on them regularly. I think with increased followers, the traffic clicking on your ads will increase. At least that is what I am hoping for.

Wow, I had absolutely no idea what "kissed your adds" meant until now, haha. I just received a message on blog catalog from someone stating that they did so and had no clue, i was looking around for a comment, lol.
