This is my first poll on my new blog "My Monkey Spirit". Do you think David Bowie is cool. Personally, I think he is. What say you?

My favorite songs of his are "Golden Years" and "Modern Love."

    I think he's kind of a freak.

Well only for this reason, Stevie Ray Vaughan played Guitar with him, as did Adrian Belew as well as Reeves Gabrels

I like some of his music, but wouldn't say I find him "cool".
AG mentioned Stevie Ray Vaughan, he was cool.

I love Bowie because he isn't content to sit on his laurels and churn out the old hits like he is a jukebox (I'm looking at you here Rolling stones et al!)
My favourite Bowie period though would have to be the Spiders from Mars period because not only was the music brilliant but the Spiders were all from my home town.

Yes, yes, yes! I remember watching that concert on PBS. It changed the way I thought about live music (and about public television, for that matter. Monty Python's one thing, but alien spiders a la Bowie?) AG, would those guys have played with him if he didn't have something to offer, musically? That's what makes him cool, not his various phases of outrageous style.

I saw him in concert, and it was probably one of the best concerts I've ever been to. His quality control on song performance is amazing.

I did, however, rent his film "The Man Who Fell To Earth" and it was entirely too bizarre for my tastes.

No, I don't like him, nor his music.

My brother likes his music more than I do. But what I find appealing is his presence and he never seems to be running around trying to relive the good ole days like many older artists. To me his is one of those rare people you can't help like.
