Do we resort to forums because real life convos are dull?

I noticed that in real life, the topics we talk about are no where as interesting and diverse as the ones we discuss online.Is this the reason we come here? Or one of the reasons at least?

well the topics here are interesting but I must admit most of the things I talk about I talk about with my friends (except the questions about blogging), so its not like Im used to dull conversations. I would say, at least for me the reason why I come to forums is because Im already on the internet so why not drop by and force my way into some conversation. Also the personalities here are interesting, I think that is what makes forums kind of fun cause the people here are weird and unique...except me
oh and theres people from all over the world and normally I dont get to convo with people in other countries...um mainly cause I probably couldn't understand their accent anyways so its best for me to convo online with people from other countries

  Yeah I think the number of people here is also another reason.Instead of hearing the opinions we're used to from our friends and family, we here more diverse opinions from people of different backgrounds.Good point.

i think it is because here there is no real repercussions of a post, therefore making it easier to express your real thoughts,

IRL its harder to say things without considering the effect you have on others

  I like this IRL thing.True, over here you say whatever you want.But some people do that IRL too, without even considering the consequences.
  
  However, your words might actually have an effect others here too, just not to the same extentm as RL.
