I read your profile and understand that you are sixteen years old. I am 44 years old and I am from Malaysia. I hope you have done enough researches to say that a certain country has stolen your country's culture.
Why dont you take things in a positive way that your culture still lives and is in other countries. You are so young and you will be much happier if you see things positively.
As you know we in Malaysia life with many races and culture and do respect each others's culture. There may be a small percentage of differences but we live in peace.
We celebrate many festivals and we enjoy each other's food .
See positve , think positive and live positively.
I took the effort and time to start your thread so I hope you will take my advice
I have also added you as a friend. Let us be friends-
"I hope you have done enough researches to say that a certain country has stolen your country's culture."
I agree, there are many things that can be traced back to other cultures, or brought into a country by other cultures. I am sure the traders from China,India, Arab and Portuguese had some influence. Doesn't the Malay wedding ceremony have elements of Hindu traditions? -
i don't mean malaysia is as a stealer .but it is my opinion.i'm a sixteen years old and i'm young but my thinking is too old.hehehheeee... i'm so sorry if you ill fell with me,.
but indonesian people very very angry with it. ok,we look from positive side that we're neighbour which wont separate
i'm very glad if you be my friends.i dont find a enemy but i find a friend. -
I know what you mean, but what I am saying is that your country has adapted and absorbed things from other cultures and to try and claim other cultures steal from your country is not necessarily true. How can you claim they steal batik (yes I know that is a Malay word) when it existed in other cultures too. And why it is wrong for other cultures to absorb and adapt crafts etc, when Malay has done the same?

So, they stole it and you can't use it any more? Is that how it works? That's the only thing that I would find wrong (can Interpol recover stolen cultures?) but I don't really think it's possible. Have you ever heard the saying, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"? Unless you're talking about copyright violation or freaky stalkers, take it (the imitation) as a compliment and get on with your life.

I agree, just because one nation adopted customs/food/clothing from another nation does not mean that it is any less a part of the original nation. In fact, it means that the idea was so good that it spreads.
@OP
In the US we have a term "melting pot" to represent how our culture is really just a blending of the cultures of the people living here. As Selvia said above, borrowing ideas, cuisine, art styles, etc. from others can be a good thing.

I think that is not problem between Indonesia and Malaysia, but the problems between Indonesian Javanese and Malaysian Javanese. Perhaps the jealousy is behind this issue. Indonesian Javanese couldn't claim that that reog and so on belongs to Javanese in Indonesia but it also belongs to Javanese all around the world. You learn how the Javanese live in Suriname. They also speak javanese and play reog dance, but you do not speak up or dispute with Suriname. But when Malaysian Javanese play that dance, you become uncomfortable.
Now is not the time to show up our differences but the issue is how to bridge the gap between these two neighborhood especially in terms of economic development and people wealthiness.
For Malaysian, don't under-estimate Indonesian people and consider them as under your social class by calling them such as "Indon" and so on even though you don't intentionally mean like that. This word really hurt their feeling. I believe that Indonesia will be a strong country in the future once its government become more visionary, integrative, loyal, and anti-corruption. Both country need to keep peace, harmony, and "maruah" masing-masing bangsa. Thank you and forgive me.
