Just wanted to know how you guys feel about the Law of Attraction. I recently watched The Secret DVD and there were a lot of discussions going on lately about it. Anyone here who can share how the law of attraction actually affected their lives?

It makes sense if you add to it that you have to actually get off your *#&(* and do some work. The movies makes it seem that you can stare a bunch of photos and see yourself in a new house, with a new car and a dog and that it will just magically happen.
Life doesn't work that way. Most people want to put in 20% effort and get 100% back. That's sort of what the Secret says. The bottom line though is that if you put in 20% you get back 20% if you put in 100% you get back 100%. There are no shortcuts. -

I saw that movie after a friend of mine read the book and recommended it to me. My opinion on these matters is that the Universes does not care. The is no super powerful consciousness or thing trying to help us by giving us what we think and or want. However after seeing that movie I have to admit that I have tried doing what it tells you and in someways I believe it does work, but not the way they tell you it does. It would take me a while to explain how I think it does work so I wont go to far into but basically I think that if you truly desire something and you spend a lot of time thinking about how you want it, your mind finds a way to solve the problem and you find a way to get what you want. Most of the time this problem solving probably happens in the back of your mind with out you realizing it. This is why in general if you are looking for something in life you will eventually find it. But the notion that the Universe is giving you what you want is just not realistic. However I do believe that if you really believe in something it will become real to you.

Not as defined by the authors of the book and movie, no. I am more inclined to agree with Sway and this writer:

I take issue with the statement by Byrne that positive thoughts bring positive things and negative ones bring negative things therefore if you are ill, fat, murdered, raped, fired, gassed in a nazi oven somehow one attracted it. -
Absolutely I agree with it. Earl Nightengale put it better "We become what we think about"
I don't agree with their reasoning, that molecules vibrate a certain way and that brings it to you. - what a bunch of baloney!

It does somehow, because The law of attraction states, that which is like unto itself is drawn. Meaning you are maintaining a vibration that matches what you are wanting, more things will come your way to make you feel that way.

I do believe in the Law of Attraction, but I think we need to invest our own efforts as well to achieve our goals. That's why I called my blog Create Good Things (www.creategoodthings.com) rather than simply Attract Good Things.
