I doubt it is possible. We have no time travelers from the future here today. Where are they all if it is possible? Nobody from the future has come back and told us anything.
-
-
Since there are no time travelers from the future it must be impossible. The other options are: you can only traveling forward through time, you can only travel back in time to the invention of time travel and no further, or traveling back in time creates some sort of alternate dimension.
-
Well I'm really not sure. It would be fun but I doubt that it is possible.
This is a great video set by Professor Brian Cox

You figure people would have come back to this time now and stop the terrible events from happening.
Like school shootings, 9-11, plane crashes of famous people... nobody stopped any of these things. -
-
Yea, I do.
At the moment, we are all traveling ahead in time. Isn't it?
Traveling back in time is a problem though because the Time dimension doesnt have the same properties as other dimensions of space (X,Y,Z).
Also, traveling back in time can give birth to weird paradoxes like the famous "Grandfather's paradox".
Apart from that there would be physical constraints like to achieve the speed of light or Greater. -
Time travel is possible. You will have to think outside of the box. Your consciousness can do it at a whim. A memory of something from the past is an actual movement in what we consider time. We only think of our world as physical. Our consciousness, our mind, is amazing! Our existence is more than our five physical senses.

INDISPUTABLE PROOF! -
Johnny --- ROFLMAO - that was hilarious.
Would you hurry and make a new presentation.
For those of you who answered the question - WITHOUT seeing the video --- ROFLMAO --- You freaking lose!
That was good on Robot Chicken Level - hope you get some investors.
Good luck - and again Johnny Biceps and Crew - Good Luck to you!!!

btw .. this might be of interest to some ..

The Time Travel Fund ..
Q: How does this work?
A: Current scientific theory states that Time Travel may be possible, however the technology is a long way off, perhaps hundreds of years in the future. Now, assume it does become possible in say, 500 years. As with any technology, Time Travel will get less expensive as time goes on. Just as the price of a VCR has dropped to less than $70 from the several hundred dollars it cost just ten years ago, Time Travel, once it becomes feasible, will initially be very expensive yet it will become more and more economical as time goes by.
Q: How?
A: We establish a fund in current time. You make a small contribution to the fund, and in a few hundred years that small amount grows to a very large amount. From that fund, moneys will be taken and used to retrieve you, perhaps seconds after you join, perhaps even moments before your recorded death, perhaps some other point in your lifetime. Further, the fund may even pay to have you "rejuvenated" medically (assuming this is scientifically possible at that time,) and support you financially for a number of years. (Note: Retrieving you just before the moment of death is just one possible scenario, but one that would avoid any Star Trek(TM) type paradoxes. There are an unlimited number of other possibilities, and we do not know what they will do, we can only make reasonably informed guesses.)
>>> REMEMBER: They are ONLY REASONABLE INFORMED GUESSES
You see .. if you invest $1.00 now - in 500 years at an average of 5% rate of interest, you will earn $39 billion dollars! (of course, it might cost $50 billion dollars to buy a glass of milk) -
Actually here's a really practical use of time travel: pranking your co-worker!

I am time traveling into the past NOW - a moment ago I was 6 days ago (when I read the opening question) to 4 hours ago when Iloyola spoke/wrote above. Doing it now. This moment. Which I can return to when I want ANY time now.
-
I forgot to mention that some people say you can't travel back in time until we invent the time machine.
Since we don't have it yet, nobody can travel back to our time now.-
YOU FAIL mikeny07...
Sigh - I think that people are totally NOT getting this.
LMAO!
Obtuse they are --- yep - obtuse.
GRIN
Alright - I will CLUE you in.
THERE IS A VIDEO --- JOHNNY BICEPS (the poster of this thread)
It is a video he has linked to - THAT HE CREATED.
Watch it.
If you have a sense of humor - that is.
THEN --- come back to the post and comment... LOL!
About time travel... LMAO!

This is an idea that's kinda related to the faster-than-light thing, but kinda different.
Space and time are linked. Without space, there is no time. Therefore, all you need to do is remove yourself from space, and you're removed from time as well.
Think about it like this: as long as we're trapped within this expanding universe, we're trapped within the linear, one second at a time experience of time. If we somehow find ourselves outside of this expanding universe, then we're outside of time as well (we're also outside of any physical constraints that we might otherwise have been subject to, but that's a different story).
Theoretically, because the universe is expanding at the speed of light (after all, light is part of this universe too), all you need to do is point your spacecraft to the edge of the universe and go faster than the speed of light long enough, and then you find yourself outside the universe looking in.
The problem with that is if you're in a spaceship, you're effectively taking the universe with you. So maybe you'll have to think of another way.
What's this got to do with time travel? Once you get to be outside of space/time, then look back. Everything that has ever been or will ever be, from your perspective, has already happened.
You can then step back into the universe at any point in time that interests you.
Problem solved.
(Just out of interest, think about that definition. Outside of space/time. You get there by effectively going up forever. From there, you can see everything that's ever been. There's a name for a place like that ... it's called heaven. What do you think of that?) -
Do I believe in time travel? Definitely. I was born in 1938. I have photos to prove I was a young boy in the early 1940s. The photos are verified by others who knew me during THAT time. Today is October of 2009 - 71 YEARS LATER. I positively know I AM traveling through time. Seemingly at an ever faster speed.
I don't know how to operate any machinery that may have gotten me here. I wish I knew. I least would like to put time traveling in "park" for a while. And if I could find "Reverse"? Wow, that would be fantastic. Anyway, I AM moving through time. 71 years now. Don't know how long it will continue. Ain't even sure of the destination.
Ah, wail...another day in the life. Tomorrow will come. -
Time travel can never ever happen. Unless you can somehow record the placement of particles of matter and recreate their alignment to that of the time or date that you desire to revisit, it is utterly IMPOSSIBLE!
