Topics: adsense, blogging, money
There`r hundreds of Blogs out there, titled like: "Make money online" , "The Adsense blog" , "Blogging for profit" and so on...
This makes me wonder what your reason for blogging is. Fun or profit?
If blogging for fun, does ad revenue affect your decisions?
(like choosing topics / design)

Well I (just) started blogging because I was unsatisfied with webapp directories who try to include every little webapp / social network which makes them useless. Or webapp blogs who post so many news that it`s hard to find the webapp you`r looking for.
Which means that I started out of a non-profit reason. But I have to say that money is definitely a factor that affects my decisions. ( design template, using excerpts, perhaps even the amount of keywords in a post).
But I try to keep my content unaffected by money.

Let's face it, nobody in their right mind would pay me to write stuff. If anyone made such an offer, I must conclude they are insane and/or on drugs. -

Definitely no profit involved. I blog driven by a tragically narcissy need for attention, a desire to make people shoot coffee out the nose and under doctor's orders not to keep my insanity a secret.

In my case, both. I enjoy what I'm doing, but I'm writing and creating graphics with an eye to making money.
Now, those "Make money online" , "The Adsense blog" , "Blogging for profit" things? There's more to blogging-for-profit than that. My goal is to create things that people enjoy and/or can use - which will build traffic, which will result in more advertising revenue.
Simplistic? Maybe.
Time will tell. -

I blog for me...Inspired by Hugh MacLeod's item #22 in his manifesto on How to Be Creative:
'Do it for yourself, noone cares'.
Haven't figured out the profit thing as of yet but not gonna count on a blog to get rich/successful...I need energy to do other things...Like, work and play.
Big props to blog-money-makers who are doing what they love and getting paid for it! I hope to do the same.

Initially, blogging was suggested to me from a friend who has one already. He was always impressed with my posts from the chat room we participated in (Topix), but now I blog basically to 1) get myself and my opinions out there; 2) promote my writings and my book: and 3) get away from the playground police atTopix.
For the most part, it works quite well. -
My first reason is I'm totally dedicated to the development of guitar, it's beauty, the possibilities, the therapeutic value of music and a persons natural need to make music.
My second gthing is I'm making products to sell. -

I started honest, on helium.com when I got my computer and found them a real learning tool.I since started my blogs on "wordpress" and "Google Bogs" made a few friends. Learning a lot and I thank you all. Now I am just trying to get my work of the ground like everyone else and through blog catalog a gentleman put me in touch with enzine articles and now this morning I was accepted for my article "How to stop dogs coming into your yard and how to stop your dogs from barking!"

I did not know much about the computer world out there until about six months ago and started writing not it is a great outlet for me. Learning about the world, and not all bloggers are bad. Writing has done so much for me I do not intend to stop. That is what I have been doing since I got up at five o'clock this morning.

I blog for fun paired with the pleasant delusion that someone will magically e-mail me with a book deal. Blogging also gives me the chance to boost my researching and writing skills so when that book deal does come(hahaha) I'll be prepared.

I am putting a lot of work out about our River Murray in South Australia the hope to create awareness of the south Australians that live in that district that should've been taken care of generations ago, by politicians. The River Murray means a lot me, even though I do not live there but I have spent many years there on holidays, rowing with family and picnics with family many good times. The same as you I am hoping to raise a little awareness.

I blog strictly to stay sane while living half way up a mountain with no vehicle access and two under-5s to watch over, rather than for money. Having said that, the first comment on my blog suggested there might be a book there...

I don't even have AdSense on bitburo.net, but further down the line who knows?

I am enjoying reading all the different ideas of "Why people blog, for Fun or Profit." Basically we all blog for fun, therapy, and if we are lucky profit. It is still new to me and I am enjoying the learning curve of it all. It has also given me plenty of ideas for writing. Keeping the old grey matter working.

It would be nice to have a profit from writing, but it is very difficult for me to write about topics that are not really interesting for me - then I feel tired and it takes a lot of time. But when I write about things which are interesting to me (such as programming), they are not interesting to many people, and then I only have few visitors, and especially those who know how to use AdBlock; not a good way to make profit.
Also it is important for me to have some quality in articles, to write on topics where I am at least partially expert. Again, this is probably not the way to make money... I imagine that using "popular keywords" and writing a lot of cheap stuff (do 15 minutes "research" in Google, and then produce a "Top 10 blah-blah" article) is much more profitable.
So I write for fun... and dream that maybe somehow someday I could make some money from it too. -
WOW that is really a good question? I blog just for fun and testing the water out whether anyone out there in cyberspace read on my blog or not. I really don't care in the first place actually but when I surf around for the whole day to find out what blogging was all about and saw most of the blog out in www are adsense to make money. I really wonder about that.
The whole 100% fact is everyone want to make money coz they need to feed for themselves to survive. What else is there to it? Everyone need money for their living necessarity condition. How can we blog for fun.
From what I see blogging can be fun but after 1-2years later will die out fast because of ideas burnout, inspiration lost, no motivation to go on or whatever issue may arise. I used to have a awesome domain back in 2002 when I was a college student but within 6month I gave up. LOL!!!
Here I just recently brought my domain www.ohiit.com. So if you guys are curious about my blog. Feel free to drop by. If not interested then I have nothing else to say.
Till then have a nice day. -
I blog for fun, to answer reader questions and fill my day when House isn't on lol
