Hello.
I was just wondering out loud to myself right now whether on not anybody one here clicks other blogger's adsense ads. So I though I would wonder my way over to the discussion board to find out.
My personal stand on this is that I ALWAYS click adsense ads when I visit a fellow blogger's site (if it is relevant to something I'm interested in). There are two reasons for this:
The first is that I love the entire blog movement and I try to support my fellow bloggers in any way that I can.
The second is that companies who advertise on Adsense want clicks to their sites. If it's something I'm even remotely interested in I always prefer to do it through a blogger's site than google search. Best of both worlds as far as I'm concerned.
What do you guys do? Are you anti-adsense or what?

I don't, doing so can their account banned, and if you're an Adsense user it can get yourself banned too.
As an Adwords advertiser that creates ads I can tell you that I DON'T want people to click on the ads I put out unless they are interested in the product I'm trying to sell. I purposely put the price of an item to discourage people from just clicking out of curiosity. The ones who still click on my ad even after I post a price of the product are more willing to pay for the product. People who just click on ads annoy me because they just spent some of my budget on a possible sale.
Also by clicking on someone's ads there is a chance that you might get their site 'smart priced'. Which is when a site keeps sending junk traffic that doesn't convert into a sale. It brings that site's overall Adsense revenue down.
That's my opinion anyways.-
This gets me to wondering...to what extent is "window shopping" legitimate and a reasonable behavior? I several times over several days clicked from Jamie's blog on an adsense ad that brought me to detailed information about sailing on Cunnard's Queen Mary 2. Anyone who's had a peak at my bank statements would know there is no chance in he!! of me purchasing an ultra luxury vacation, but wouldn't an advertiser like that Assume they would be getting a fairly high number of Window Shoppers, who like me were enjoying the site as an idle fantasy but Guaranteed never to convert to a sale...

Yes but what I'm saying is exactly that: I will only click an ad if I see something I'm interested in checking out for purchase - but I would RATHER do it from a blog site than google search so I'm supporting the community. Google makes enough money as it is!

yeah, Coreadrin,
if ad is relevant, i do click on my fellow bloggers else id ont' .. but sometimes, i see some ads so relevant and so enticing, that i couldn't help myself to click on the ad on my own site too. doing so once in a while is not a problem. because, i buy service when i see the ad of my choice on my site it's not just fraud click.. but some people do click often on their own site.. that's not good.

If I'm truly interested in the product, I will. If I'm not interested in it, I won't. As a small business owner, I know how precious those advertising dollars are, and I know that a company pays every time I click on one of those ads. If I'm not truly interested, I don't want to waste their hard-earned money.

I only click an ad if it offers something I'm interested in. However, on the other end of things, I carry referral ads in my sidebar that may be of interest to other bloggers, 75% of my visitors. They pay a lot better than standard click-ads, and offer something much less random.

I click ads that interest me as I come across them. I never click something that I am not genuinely interested in. I also once saw an ad on my own blog that I really wanted to look at, and of course I could not click it from there, so I went to several other similar blogs looking for it!

I never support Blogger by clicking their Adsense Ads. I support them by commenting and subscribing to their Blogs. I click on Ads when i want to read more about a topic i'm interested in. The bloggers who have ads about certain topics I like to read about will get my clicks, but never as a favor and they don't know it's me either :).
Ads I click on
1. Paranormal
2. Religon
3. Conspiracy Theories
4. UFO
I never click on ads about making money lol
They are majority of the time a site where they want you tto buy something.
Another thing, blogger who are into making money with adsense will rarely click on ads on blogs about making money... FACT -

Never, never. I'd much rather hit sites from reliable sources and frankly, I just don't see AdSense as any sort of reliable source. I want to know the kind of site I'm visiting and anyone with a free coupon or $10 can place an ad with AdSense.

@moneyticks
You entered a legal and binding contract ie. Terms of Service with Google adsense that stated you would honor their policy that does NOT allow you to click your own ads or form groups with others to click theirs to commit click fraud.
However, you seem hell bent on spamming this forum by dropping your blog link into every thread you make and you have even formed a group to defraud the advertisers.
If that's not bad enough you are crying the blues on this forum because you are being reminded of the contract terms you agreed to in order to get a Google adsense account, and you are making personal attacks on those who remind you of the contract that you agreed to.
If you keep this up you will be reported and you will lose your account with Google adsense when they ban you and blacklist you. And, if you keep spamming the BC forum posts with your links you may provoke BC Admin to ban you from here too.

It appears that the majority here follow my own pattern.
If the ad catches my eye, and i want to read more. I click it.
Often however, Bloggers get caught up in the problem with badly targeted ads, So blogs probably get less clicks from me than other sites.
My favorite is when a blogger takes a ginormous dump on something. And then get nothing but ads for that particular product on the page. -
I use a Firefox 3.0.6 browser with Adblock Plus and that means
like 45.5% of the people surfing the net I don't even see ads, so "no" I don't click them ... lol

Personally I stay away from the goog ads. I look for survey's or banner ads such as credit scores etc as they pay the blogger more.
That's just my opinion.
