I enjoy acrylic painting! I miss it so much and haven't done that in years. I like the image with the dogs and fox. Hehe!! Your two painting are nice. When I did paint, I could not stop painting until the painting was completed. lol

yeah. my wife is an artist so i pick up the brush every once in a while. i want to switch to oils, but i can't even manage acrylic paint.

Acrylic is magic... way easier and much more flexible than oil....
problem is that it dries fast!!!!!!
    2. LGramlich
Being used to acrylic, I found oils difficult when I gave them a try. I'm used to that quick drying action. Also love the water-solubility (no extra chemicals req'd.)

I do both oil and acrylic, I will have them up eventually. My shop with my paper creations keep me pretty busy. Painting is my first passion, paper sculptor is my second.

I work in acrylics. There's an additive called "retarder" that slows the drying time and allows for blending.

I use gloss acrylic polymer to glaze between layers.

Chroma has a new version of its acrylic paint Atelier. There are a range of additives you can add to do different things. The idea is that you can wash the paint out of a surface you put it on or make it permanent by what you add.

My older works were with the previous version of Atelier - I liked how the paint mixed with water so easily.

Since I had trouble buying Atelier, I switched to Golden Acrylics. Most stores had them and I know a chemist founded that company.

Do you spray water mist intermittenly while painting?
