Do you dress up your animals for Halloween?
My sister does this every year with her dog. My daughter is working on an outfit for my dog this year. I have never dressed up one of my animals but since Smokie is going trick or treating this year Rebekka thought he needed an outfit. He is going to be a black and purple dragon.

that was what I was thinking but my dog went with it with no problem. She tied stuff to his back to see if he will let it stay if she makes him wings and a tail

I don't dress my animals. We do confine our cat to the studio though and the dog to the house as the fireworks are frightening and dangerous.

my mom's dog ( a wenier dog) was put in the back yard in the wood fence so he couldnt see anything but he barked so much he was hoarse the next day and we had to take him to the vet.

No, I don't. In fact, there is a neighborhood black cat (very friendly) whose parents let him out all the time.

I am worried for his safety because on Halloween, people do some horrible things to stray animals. Most animal shelters in Chicago pull black dogs and cats from adoption the week of Halloween.

    Sadistic creeps.

Oh and the picture made me LOL.

Animals who get dressed up have permission to bite who ever put them in the outfits.

I don't have pets but my neighbor dresses up her poodle for Halloween every year.

No. For some reason I find dressing up animals disrespectful towards them. Scarf is fine and using clothes because they are useful, like rain coats, I get, but the "let's make our dog look cute / funny" I don't like at all... (Sorry.)

... and we don't spend Halloween anyway.

I feel the same way actually. My chihuahuas did require fleece jackets in winter time as they were very tiny and got very cold. But my new dog is a Pomeranian and they have a double coat of hair so he won't being needing any clothing.

Nope, my pets refuse to wear costumes. We've only tried once, for a Christmas card, but even then it was a disaster.

I wasnt the one to dress him up that was my daughter. She bought him the hat and put the thing she is making wings out of on his back. Right now wshe is bathing him so he smells better. She has sort of taken him over lately.

that's cute - he seems really sweet to let her play with him like that.

Without doubt my Pomeranian would wear clothes If I chose to dress him but I don't. If you, your dog and your daughter are all happy then I say - go for it! Have a spooky Halloween.

P.S. I'm dressing up as a leopard this year. My husband is dressing up as a firefighter.
