It's not good to gossip, but we all do it anyway. I wouldn't say I enjoy it, but it just slips into the conversation

Everyone that says you don't like has still done it. Everyone gossips. Those who say they don't, i don't believe it. In this world it is almost impossible not to gossip unless your a hermit.
Personally i hate it but i can't avoid it, thats the problem. So if you want to gossip go for it, claim title to the starting of drama.-

maybe you haven't tried enough.
We may not avoid hearing it, but that doesn't mean we have to encourage it, participate in it.
I never did get why the petty info or rumours about the lives of others at work, around us, are worthy of discussion or have any seeming validity.
I seem to have been on the receiving end of gossips and on a few occasions in neighbourhood get togethe's I have been quite astonished by some of the claims my neighbours have made to me regarding how I spend my time. It was quite laughable really to hear someone tell me how I spend my time. It made them look ignorant and stupid.

I guess what would you consider gossip? Some people think just repeating something said in conversation with someone else is gossip but others think it's things said in confidence. I keep things said in confidence to myself but don't see anything wrong with bringing up a point made in a conversation.

I became hung up on definitions, so I found one.
Gossip--Rumor or talk of a personal, sensational, or intimate nature.
Gossip needn't be malicious. I think it comes of a natural desire to know more about the people around you. Family gossip, for instance, can almost be a tradition, and that gossip arises out of concern for the people involved.
I wouldn't go so far as to say it is beneficial, but at least to claim it as morally neutral. Who isn't a little curious about their associates' personal lives? -

I enjoy gossiping about trivial stuff but I don't gossip about people's lives or their personal business.
