They are all the rage today and everyone wants that 6-pack look.

But your abs short for abdominal muscles are a lot more than looks alone.

So I created the Ultimate at home abs routine.

Do you ever work out your abs?

If so, what kind of exercises do you do?

I have had to be careful with ab exercises - as I separated my abdominal muscles a while back.

They've healed, but still...I'm a little gun shy about anything overly strenuous.

However, yes, your core muscles (abs, obliques, and erector spinea) are essential to your ability to walk, move, or do anything. So you should take good care of them.

I was (very) pregnant, and had a bookcase full of books fall on top of me.

Not only did it pin me to the ground, and hurt like hell, but it weakened by abdominal muscles so that a day or so later all I had to do was try and buckle my seat belt - and WHAM! - no more abs. They ripped right up the middle *shudder*.

I used to try and pull myself up from a prone position, but I'd have to stop because you could see my intestines popping through.

I absolutely do! If you don't, the consequences aren't great.

I'm lazy, I use the cross crunch and that's it.

I workout my abs (goshers I sound fit lol)
I just do sit-ups and crunches and this nifty machine they have at LA Fitness

As long as you do the crunches last, I hope that machine works the oblique muscles?

Are the obliques the ones that run along the side of the six pack?
    2. Anok
Yes. Obliques make you a nice spare tire when you don't work out
  6. KiefersCorner
Most people refer to obliques as love handles LOL
    1. colininjapan
Yes the machine works the obliques

All 'exercise' should incorporate your 'abs' or 'core' muscles. Your core will thank you of if you engage it doing squats, lunges, bench press, etc, etc... you won't have to do isolated exercises anymore. Some of the best core exercises are barbells squats, deadlifts and lunges. www.joztrainingblog.com
