I just installed DoFollow plugin yesterday because from my experiment, even with the default NoFollow, I still got a lot of comment spam from bots.
Here's my opinion aldianprakoso.com/2007/06/19/bright-beginning-is-now-dofollow-compliant-fre...
Are you DoFollowers?

If you want to know how to do this with Blogger, here is a good tutorial: webstractions.blogspot.com/2007/05/removing-nofollow-from-blogger-styled.ht...
I still haven't taken the leap myself though. I could see where it would be a good thing. On the other hand, doesn't it just encourage commenting for the sake of getting backlinks? I moderate comments, so I could control that. Still, I can imagine scenarios where I would be happy to let a comment stand but would be less than thrilled about having my own blog pop up as something supporting a site that I do not want to openly associate myself with. And don't blogrolls take care of this sort of thing? I'm just asking. I haven't formed an opinion about this phenomenon one way or another. It probably depends very much on the individual blogger and the kind of traffic he or she gets.-
I figure I can delete irrelevant and spammy comments but that the Do-Follow idea is too valuable to worry about them ahead of time. My traffic is small enough that I haven't gotten much in the way of spam and only one questionable comment (today) that I let stand because I know that he's a big producer for another site at which I write.
If I start getting spam I will turn on comment moderation and perhaps find a spam blocker for them. Until then, I'm content to treat them as they come. I think it's a reasonable reward for folks who bother reading my posts and responding to them.

Here's an additional list of DOFOLLOW supporters from the blog catalog community. We had a similar discussion started by karenlim a week ago.

You can view the source code of your blogger web page in a browser and you won't see rel="nofollow" in your link tags. Other than that, it would be pretty difficult to gauge the real effect, other than maybe your top commentators and linkers see increases in their PageRank (provided you have a higher PageRank than they do already).

I didn't see this discussion existed and started a similar one. If anyone wants more of this topic, here it is: www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/are-you-going-to-implement-dofollow. Sorry about the duplicate topic, but it's up there and I can't take it back.

Thanks for the post. Correct URL is www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/are-you-going-to-implement-dofollow (without the period)
Going to check out your other post now...
