I mean when you dress up/get dolled up who would you like to satisfy yourself or others?

Do you want to impress others and get their attention by the way you dress?

What is your take on a man dressing up his woman/ help out on the clothes she will wear for the day?

How about women dressing up their guy?

I get dressed up 1st for myself, I need to feel comfortable with what I am wearing
and if I don't I cannot be confident with others.

If a couple dresses each other up or the man wants to dress his woman, if it is done in a loving way where "Both Agree" with what she is wearing, that is fine, as long as he is not too damn controlling
and she has no say, because then she losses her identity and herself when someone is the boss over you. That I cannot agree with. NEVER.

Have you ever found yourself saying "I have nothing to wear!" "I look ugly whatever I wear" and then your man will tell you "Honey, that white top you wore earlier and that hot black pants does the trick." "It's a classic, you will turn heads."

Then you would say: "But I am not going out to turn heads, I'm just going to the bank."

Man get's upset: "I was trying to help. You were being picky about yourself. You look great whatever you wear. It feels weird that I can't help you feel good."

No I live alone, that is my choice with a closet full of brand new clothes, some still with the price tags attached to them. I am actually using some since we have good weather here in Boston lately, including the 24kt jewelry I seldom use.
You know I have been so busy with my head in the books that I almost forgot to go spice up a little with the clothes in my closet. I am going to more art shows, galleries and museums lately so this is the perfect opportunity to live a little. In fact this gold dress above is a see through mess material that I can't find anywhere anymore. Bummer
Sometimes when I find a perfect sunglass that fits great, I buy 2 to stock up
because once you lose it, you can't find anything to replace it and that sucks.

haha yeah I agree I buy some clothes with same designs in different colors but not on shades though when I lose one I buy a new one totally different but that is a nice suggestion hmmm...

I agree, in part, with jeunelle. If I am not comfortable in what I'm wearing, then it will drastically affect my ability to be confident with others. I do, however, keep others in mind as I dress.

As for couples dressing one another, well, if it's innocent enough like when my husband can't match his shirt with his pants, then yes. Of course, there are those that are into the whole bdsm control thing and the dressing is a part of it, so.... to each his own I suppose.

Lol lifting my voice haha that's another dress up thingy hahaha! French maid outfits and what have you's haha...

But yeah, I think it's sweet for couples to dress each other, it's very loving I think.

Yes liftingmyvoyce that doesn't mean I don't keep others in mind too.
I am an Optician and have to dress the part to look professional while selling my Sunglasses but after hours when I am not working I still keep others in mind too
but being confident with what you are wearing is of prime importance.
You don't want to look like you are selling sex when going out for your own safety and I hope more women use caution. One thing I will NEVER be caught dead in is a Halter top.
In New York not too long ago near Central Park many men were pulling down the halter tops
of women as they walked with their husbands and the police were right their laughing
and did nothing. I will not be caught dead in a Halter top
because when I need to kick your arse, nothing is standing in my way of reaching it
and that goes for those puny cops too.
    3. earthlingorgeous
yikes! good thing I don't live in NY! Halter tops are my favorite.

My wife does a lot of shopping for me, but then again I buy a lot of her "fun" clothes. We each have certain articles we like to see each other in - including professional attire. We work in the same office and get ready together, so yeah, there's a certain element of "ooooh, put on that today!"
    1. earthlingorgeous
lol I think that's so cute hahaha!

what makes the list of fun clothes? may I ask?

Me. I feel more confident, energetic and outgoing when I feel I look great. I appreciate getting compliments too! Totally for me.

      @Lieblingartcrafts
Me too -- I love looking good and I love getting compliments. When I work in the art studio I wear coveralls. When I work on the farm I wear jeans. When I go out I like getting dressed up. Remarkably, I primarily dress in second hand clothes bought from consignment and thrift shops. I cannot believe the cool, high quality clothing that people wan to get rid of but I'm happy to benefit from it. Last summer I developed a keen interest in sexy lingerie -- love it!

I do a little of both, it depends on the situation. I wear everything from jeans and old cowboy boots to dresses and heels.
    1. momscrazylife
Did I mention that I just wear scrubs...lol
    2. offendedblogger
I hope you are a nurse and not one of "those" people!
    3. momscrazylife
lol..what are one of "those" people? Like the jammie wearers?
    4. momscrazylife
ya, no I'm a gerontologist..I live in scrubs, but I think that because I have been wearing them for so long that I hate anything that isnt loose or comfortable like jeans..
    5. offendedblogger
Gosh, I want a pair of them now.

So are they a brand name type thing, too? Like if you wear brand x instead of brand y scrub do your colleagues snub you?
    6. momscrazylife
Well, to be honest, you can definitely pick out the Walmart scrubs, but over all noone cares. They're scrubs. You get blood/vomit/piss/poop. You name it, it's on them.
    7. offendedblogger
Hehe, well thanks alot for ruining the whole wanting to wear scrub things for me! Gosh!!

Actually, come to think of it, one of the spas I worked in years ago gave us a pair to wear as our 'uniform'. They really were comfy and I only got oils, lotion and makeup on mine.

Well blood that one time, but ya know. That was settled out of court bwahaha.
    8. momscrazylife
lol...i wanna go to a spa....

I totally dress for myself. I never dress for my husband, if I wear anything with even a very modest v-neck (I'm talking *not even close to cleavage showing*), or any tops that are close to body hugging, he'll make a remark like "is that for wearing *outside* of the house?", or "did you buy that in the smallest size they had?" I don't let him bother me, I dress modestly, perhaps a bit young, but try to be hip.

I wouldn't mind if my man told me I looked nice in something, and may even be influenced to dress a bit more for him if he did. The problem is, when compliments come out in a derogatory fashion, it really makes one want to do the opposite.

I do try to buy my husband clothes for birthdays & Christmas because he dresses like an old man, and he's only 36.

I dress so that I feel comfortable, but for me that means looking presentable, I can't leave the house in sweats and a raggedy-ass T-shirt. I like skirts and dresses and heels. My husband will tease me that 'we are only going to Target' or something like that, but I don't feel right schlepping around in scruffy clothes. I'll get a comment, like choochoo if something is a little too 'sexy' but I think he just has a 1-track mind.

I only get too dressy when we go out for church or dinners... at home, I only wear most of my favorite & worn-out clothes, I don't care too much. One of my old, all-time favorite shirt with holes on it was thrown away by my hubby, hahaha! disgusting, huh?

    I dress to impress chelle

pandas like to look their best

I've never understood a man who choses or buys clothes for a women. WTF? I don't get it. I'd so not be interested in some dude picking out my clothes, lol. Very weird to me. And vice versa. I know I'm old and everything ... lol...but even back in my young and beautiful days ... I don't ever remember dressing to impress anyone, altho maybe I did I just can't remember. If I did it was a phase that didn't last too long.
