You don't get any traffic by signing up- you gotta do the work, but that's the same with every networking site.

Yes, in my case, BC contributes about 5-10% of traffic daily to my blog. Maybe because I have a lot of friends /contacts in BC and sometimes I joined in the discussion forum. But of course, it is still back to the basics of getting traffic, namely, promotion and advertising, posting high quality blog content and updating it regularly, search engine optimization, and having a good theme and lay-out.

Absolutely. I didn't realize this until I switched site traffic trackers. Now I can see that quite a few of my visitors are from Blog Catalog. Better yet tho - I really like the interaction of being here. I don't use the groups and boards on other sites nearly as much as I do here. I feel like I get a lot of support from other BC'ers.

I don't get a lot of traffic from BlogCatalog (I've had it for a few months now). However, I get a steady trickle. My hope is that I keep writing, keep discussing and - eventually - people may pick up on it.

Yes. After adding to Blog Catalog is Google can detect most of the blogs. Not like in most of other blog directories Blog catalog permit to add most of the blogs free of charge. Thanks very much for the blog catalog. I wish success of the blog catalog.

Till feb 09 blogcatalog was the top referring site for me but entrecard has pushed blogcatalog to no 2 position.But I must admit that the bounce rate for entrecard visitors is more than for blogcatalog

I'm getting quite a few viewers from here (I'm fairly new on here as well), but only a couple people comment regularly . Many are on my follower's list, and added me a friend on here, but I am yet to interact with them :)

I suppose it depends what people's taste are in blogs, as to whether you get regular traffic, and how interesting your content is.

I have commented on quite a few people's blogs, I've seen promoting themselves in these threads, but most of them don't seem to want to respond LOL

However it's lovely to be here, and to have the opportunity that you will eventually find people that enjoy visiting your blog (or have something in common), and visa versa.

I am gathering the money making or blog help type blogs would get lots more traffic ;-)

I get some traffic through Blog Catalog, but I wouldn't not suggest using it as a primary source of traffic.

On the other hand, I have found several blogs on here that I read regularly, or at least as regularly as I do anything.

I get some traffic from BC.

I agree with Timethief, you should look for similar blogs to your blog, visit them and comment.
I have a widget on mine so that I can see who's visited. I visit other personal development blogs and I am trying to comment on as many as possible. I also visit blogs on blogging.

I will not add a blog to my favourites and comment on their blog just because they add me to their favourites.

Dianaf86 I have added your blog, commented, and dugg it because I genuinely enjoyed your post how to use Twitter. Thank you for writing your next post based on my question.

I think BC is a great place to interact with other bloggers. I prefer it to Mybloglog which is stagnant.
