I guess my niche is easy to define "art" my goal is to grow as an artist and hopefully sell-

Well, I had planned on making girlsarestrange an blog about art and writing, but it's becoming just a record of life from my own perspective. I don't know, what do you think? I feel like if I had more of a defined niche, I'd attract more viewers. Advice?-

Do you ebay? I have seen vintage on Ebay and it sells. Try a Squidoo on vintage to meet others that are similar to your work. Hook up and create a directory and share the links with each other. What their visitors don't find on their blog may find it on yours. Your blog has a real life sentimental value, one to definitely read. Good luck.

I was always too ignorant to look up in a dictionary what "niche" means, and prefer the 'ole "Andromeda" definition (Tyr Anasazi, Telemachus Rhade, etc) (pronouncing it as nee-chi)

I find profitable niches. Most marketers make the mistake of going after popular keywords which either have a poor KEI or no profitability in them or both. Even if the KEI is favorable and you can rank well, what good is the traffic if your drawing lots of tire kickers?-
I take my niche keywords and break them down and it works great for me. Also an easy phrase that relates.

Great Blog and had some laughs there. My first time to the zoo when I was 5, there was a kids petting zoo in San Francisco Zoo. You can put coins into the machine and get food to feed the goats. This goat walked up to me, I was startled, it try to gnaw on my jacket. lol I tried to get away from it and it finally stopped bothering me. To this day, I still remember the goat story. What is a niche? A position particularly well suited to the person who occupies it. There are many different ways to define this word niche, pronouced "Nich." Something that you are knowledgable about and surround your blog mainly with the niche topic.
Example, if your blog is about Trees, you would research all about trees and post up all about trees and everything that would pertain around trees. It can be about seeds of tree or it can be about News on tree and it's environment. Still the main topic revolves around the subject trees.
The resources would be tree magazines, news about trees, forest trees, tree tea oils, syrup from trees, sap from trees, tree cakes, toys made from wood, tree tea shampoo, tree photos, gardening trees, firewood sale, tree factory.
Who are the people who fight for trees? Why do they fight for trees? where did tree come from? what is a tree? why do trees help our weather? How does trees grow? How long do trees live? What products are made from trees, Tree factory etc... I could go on and on with this niche, but apply a similarity of your own niche, you will find the answers.

Hi bluchi,
You might want to add photo relating to the topic that you are posting about. Example, Men's Trench Coats is the topic. Use that in your title of that post (Great keyword), the actual name of brand that you carry, ie.London Fog. Then show photos of trench coats on a man or you. Add an alt= tag or title="Men's Trench Coat" to that anchor the image. If you actually wear any of the clothing that you mention in your post, write about it with photos of either you or model. Talk about how comfy it made you feel and the benefits of how to manage that piece of clothing. Make points that earn you this targeted traffic via your online venue. Hope this helps you.

With this paragraph, I see many great links to potential other products to offer your audience besides offering trench coats, but also if you offer these similar trench coats that these actors wore in the films, it's a big plus and research photos that you can use with permission on a personal blog, not selling photo type free royalty photos. My niche is eavesdropping. I never thought of it that way. If you'd asked me when I started I'd have said 'writing' or 'character development'. But my content, according to readers, appeals to a wider audience than just writers. I've discovered two other eavesdropping blogs, one is the heard in New York one and the other is called I think 'overheard lines'. Pretty small niche, I guess, but one all the same.

Yes you are correct, but I'd like to know what type of niche is each person's blog. I also use this discussion to meet each person and go to their profile, say hi I've stopped by, introduce myself, go check out their blog, maybe join their neighborhood, leave a review, rate their blog, and maybe add them as a friend. Networking it and it's a great tool to start a discussion. So far, I've meet quite a few people on here and shout to shout. Some like my help, some like what I do, I get invited to join some groups, find blogs I like faster. I can keep up with my busy schedule and not have to wait for a window to load, just click on the person's photo and it's an instant portal to visit my new blog catalog friends. When I right click on a photo, I then open a new tab. I might have 10 tabs opened at once. Read the person's latest post. Hope this answers some queries.
